Spyderco Poliwog makes it through the wash ...
Left the Poliwog clipped to my pants last night and it went through the entire wash and dry cycles. When I discovered it I feared the worst. But other than being clean and some of the edges of the G-10 material looking a tad polished, it looks fine. ;-)

I use three fountain pens and a mechanical pencil where each is most appropriate. I change inks time to time. • Pelikan M320 (limited orange) with B nib for note taking. • Pelikan M405 (blue stripe) with BB nib for writing letters and cards. • Lamy 2000 with EF nib for Moleskine planner. • Lamy 200...

I am fairly new to the knife world (about 6 months) and am confused. I tend to do a lot of research before I spend my hard earned money on a new blade. I have a local knife store that I go to to ogle and fondle blades. 95% of my knives are Spydercos because they always turn out to be the best. I ju...

What do you guys like for pens? ...
A few years ago my wife let me buy myself a pelikan M800 fountain pen, a bit of a "grail" pen for me. (yeah, I know, I'm a shell of a man ) I was considering a Pelikan R600 or R800 rollerball to go along with it, but they're just too much money for me to justify. This Lamy Swift looks kind...

Spyderco Poliwog Knife arrived yesterday ...
Love it! :-) Review: Spyderco Poliwog Knife "Her's a look at the Spyderco Poliwog pocket knife. (pic via Spyderco) Earlier this year I bought a Spyderco Manix 2 pocket knife. Great knife and built like a tank, absolutely rock-solid. The 154CM steel is great and I like the tough G-10 handles and...

Let's talk locks ...
What do you guys think of the Spyderco ball-bearing lock with respect to strength and longevity? Compared to the Benchmade Axis and other lock mechanisms?
Are there any lock types that you just aren't comfortable with?
Thanks and hope this turns into an interesting thread. ;-)

Guys, thanks for the good info! Last night I ordered the Spyderco Poliwog from Amazon. I already have a Meerkat and like the gimmicky designs, as well as the new ball-bearing lock. ;-)

So what knife should I buy? ...
So what knife should I buy? ... I recently sold my Spyderco Manix 2 as it was just too big for me to EDC in the office. I loved everything about it except the size. If it was about 70% of the size it would have been perfect for me. I've had my eye on the Benchmade 755 MPR Sibert Titanium but I think...

Very interesting discussion, thanks. Do we know if Spyderco has adjusted any of their tolerances or machining methods for this or other models since it was introduced? For what it's worth, I just got my new Manix 2 from Amazon 2 weeks ago and there doesn't seem to be any play, if there is it's so mi...
