Re: Torque and lightweight models
I honestly wonder if I would like them to go back to linerless construction, but due to the general aversion to flex in handles, I have a feeling it wouldn't be appreciated by and large. Not that I don't get appreciating a stiff handle either, it does feel nice, I just really like lightweight knive...

Re: Best Spyderco for Backpacking
I've lead multiple wilderness backpacking trips where help would be a day or more of hiking away. I also typically go LW or UL on my trips. I've also done several bike tours and done tons of multi-pitch trad climbing. I've carried in the past: Pac Salt SE, Military, Manix LW, PM2, Delica, Endura, Ca...

Re: best locking mechanism for deer hunting folder?
I've never processed a deer but I can say that the Comp lock should definitely be a strong contender- the open back makes it easy to clean and you can simply unlock it using the same movements as unlocking a lockback, eg, full grip on the knife and thumb actuating the lock.

Re: Where oh Where have all the high end PS blades gone?
I recently ran into the same issue. Unless I'm doing food prep, my usual knife needs don't require a whole lot of PE, and I like having at least a few teeth for more aggressive cutting tasks when they come up. I definitely understand how low end users would gravitate towards PS blades but I find it ...

I never ended up carrying mine. I found I continued to prefer the full G10 one so mine is in a box unused somewhere.

Re: Fat guy problem: I keep losing knives when they're clipped to my pocket
You can carry clipped IWB right behind your hip bone, I recommend doing this with strong self-close locks like the lockback, or strong detents like CBBL and some flavors of comp lock.

Re: Will there be a mini police?
Personally I really like how the Rookie slots in to the lineup as compared to the Delica. It's thinner, sleeker, more svelte. I think it needs to maintain that character. Besides that, I don't think we necessarily need to be beholden to a 20 year old design. Spyderco's biggest weakness in the lineup...

Re: Ikuchi
I feel I would really love the Ikuchi but I keep taking it out of my pocket and not being able to open it. It seems like the detent is just a hair too hard and it ruins the instant availability of a blade.

Re: My blade nearly fell out!
It's gotten to the point where I always take every screw out of a brand new Seki and dab some blue Loctite on.
I nearly lost a DF2 Salt because the clip screw rotated right out!
I'm not sure why this seems to be a Seki problem, but I've never felt so strongly about using Loctite on any other make.

Re: Time for a micarta Native 5?
Micarta Native would be an excellent way to bring back the full steel liners for people who are into that. I'd like to see the micarta / Cruwear combination on the Native, as well as the Para 3, and even the Chaparral.
Heck, is it too much to ask for a Delica in the same?

Re: K390 Chaparral
I would have to buy this one. My current favorite carry is a Delica K390 with CF scales. I think the chaparral is an overall upgrade on the Delica, although I do love the Delica.

Re: Manix2 lwt Still Pinned
This might seem like a weird outlook but I figure if there is rust on the knife where I cannot see it (very likely since the M2LW has been my long time backpacking knife) it will either be on a moving surface which will likely clean itself over time or on a non-moving surface where it is purely stru...

Re: Manix2 lwt Still Pinned
I don’t really see what the problem with pinned is. I just rinse my knife out under the tap. I like the security of knowing there aren’t any fasteners going to fall out.

My older Sebenza looked like that after not long. After some break in period it never really wore much more than that.

Chaparral FRN with cricket “reverse S” blade. Serrated of course.

I don't have that one, but my other Chaparrals have scratches at the ricasso.
