Re: Which Spyderco Haunts You Most?

Years ago the wife & I took a trip to Gatlinburg. Along the way we stopped at Smoky Mt Knife Works. While checking the place out I saw a SE Lil'Temp on sale for less than what I'd been seeing online. Wasn't in the Army anymore, was in college, decided to pass. Also wished I'd picked up an original C...

Re: What video games are you guys and gals playing?

Played World of Warcraft since it released in 2004 till just a few months ago. The newest expansion was no longer playable with my current computer. Work and other life interests required more attention. I'd also kind of grown tired of it. Maybe when I upgrade my computer I'll look at playing again....

None dominate, but my Benchmade Bugout sees quite a bit of carry time.

Re: Just bought a Chokwe

Had no interest in the original, but after handling the Lil'Chokwe prototype I am looking forward to it. Where did you see the prototype? I love the original, but I don't carry it much because it's a little big for EDC, and the detent isn't very strong, so it once open in my pocket... hope they mak...

Has anyone with big hands tried the Ikuchi? How was it?
I wear a size L, sometimes XL, glove and found the ergonomics of the Ikuchi prototype fine.

As someone in healthcare, and a cancer survivor, I look at the transporter technology from a medical viewpoint.

A tumor is not inoperable if you can remove it on a cellular level with a transporter device. Whole lot less invasive than surgery too.

Re: Ikuchi

Second, is there sufficient lock-bar access for full, one-handed operation?: For me, yes... The cut out must be small because we wanted to make sure the blade edge was safely away from fingers in all conditions. I can flip it open and fling it closed all one-handed, but the thinness of the design m...

Re: There and Back Again

I discovered GEC back when they would sit in stores for months upon release. Now you better be sitting by your computer when they get released. I use to own quite a few, but ended up selling them in between jobs. When demand starts driving up the secondary prices I have a hard time convincing myself...

Re: Carrying an old favorite makes me want Spyderco to relaunch the Superleaf

Always liked the Superleaf. Didn't get one as I was holding out for the Lil'Temp 3.

One thing I'm betting - that pommel hook rubs a nice spot on your pants pocket

Re: Army ROTC Knife

My time in I carried a few Spydercos, the Delica & the Remote Release being the 2 I mostly carried. The Remote Release stayed on the right strap of my LBV to grab fast in case I needed to cut something fast (ex: slingload gone wrong). If I was a young soldier now I'd carry my Lil'Temp 3. I like my M...

Re: S30V Only Cool if it's a Benchmade?

I've got a Benchmade 940.....in 154CM. Carried it for a bit, but wished I'd gotten the pointier version 943. Retired it due to it being in my pocket when my 2nd son was born. One day he'll get it. Only Benchmade I have in S30V I have is the Bugout. I'm not a fan of S30V, but I really like the Bugout...

Re: I miss old school Delica

I've had a Delica of some sort since the 1st version. Personally the Delica 4 is my favorite so far. Ergonomics are the best since the original. No worries about the clip snapping off like the original - plus it's mountable 4 ways. VG-10 is a step up from GIN1/2. Edge options are not just PE or SE, ...

Re: No more love for the Rhino ?

I bought mine just as a collector piece but... I remember the frenzy before and just after it came to life... It's interesting to say at least ... I expect it's similar to any new knife release. Everyone raves over the pics, asks for specs, asks how much longer till it's out, and so fort...

Re: Reinhold Rhino Update

Got a good deal on a Rhino on the second-hand market and it arrived today. I really like this little/big knife. Slowly getting it sharpened up to how I like. The sweeping edge will take some getting use to. Looking forward to carrying it to work tomorrow.

1st knife of 2019!

Re: Will the Paramilitary FRN replace the Delica?

No. Some people don't like choils. A ParaMilitary 2 in FRN would be a stronger contender vs. the Delica as you don't have to use the choil on it. I'd consider the ParaMilitary 3 in FRN to be a strong contender to the Native. Both have choils & are around the same price. From there it comes down to l...

Re: Lil temperance question

I really like my Lil'Temp 3 and as it is winter here I've been carrying it more. Ergonomics are great and the fit & finish are very good. I'm not a fan of S30V steel, but that is just a personal bias and it has maintained a good edge. Price was higher than I like, but I wanted it so I saved up. The ...

Re: Ikuchi

I didn't expect to like this knife, but after handling it at BLADE I changed my mind. Surfinggringo was talking it up and I was intrigued. Interesting action, good ergonomics, and a good price. Slim size and deep carry should make for a discreet office EDC,
