Re: let's settle this once and for all
I've carried & used every version since it came out - Delica Family. The Delica, for me, is a perfect blend of fit, function, and affordability. I love the Caly 3, but it's not as easy to replace. The Rhino has become one of my favorite Spyderco knives, but sadly discontinued. Among currently p...

Re: Sage Questions
Good info. The Sage was never on my radar till this year at BLADE. After handling the prototype Sage LW in Maxamet I was very interested. That’s curious because I’m pretty sure Eric briefly described in an interview a Burnt Orange Sage 5 LW in REX121. I also know from another thread that Sal carrie...

Re: Warranties, Forum Etiquette, and a Thank You
Welcome from a forum old timer (guess I qualify). It's good to have new blood around here to add different viewpoints & keep the lights on. Just remember to be respectful of the members here if you want that respect back. There's a wealth of Spyderco knowledge amongst this forum. Re: your Spy27 ...

Re: Sharpfinger...
in the 70s Shrade Sharpfingers were all over the place. There's a member over on Bladeforums that worked at Schrade. After reading this, I found a thread there with a wealth of information by a guy "Codger". I don't know if that's who you were referencing, but it was a fascinating read. I...

Re: Sharpfinger...
First fixed blade I ever had. My Grandfather gave me one to use as a fishing knife. Dummy kid that I was I put it in my tacklebox wet & forgot about it for a while. Next time I pulled it out it was rusted badly. Chucked it to hide the fact I didn't properly care for it from my Grandfather. I hav...

Re: Your running knife?
OK, I just had to test it today. I took the Pacific Salt for a run - carrying it IWB in the back (quick test proved that it would be getting a little in the way in the front). And since it was sitting basically between my running pants and underwear (yeah, I am getting old, I know folks don't wear ...

I miss my original Kiwi with jimped bone scales. Only consolation is I gave it to a good friend so I know it's appreciated.

Re: For firearm guys/girls...
When I was shooting I had a rough estimate. My firearms with the most rounds through them are probably my Browning Hi-Power, Sig P225, Sig Trailside, & Browning BL-22.

Re: Go Get Your Anchor! True Beer Stories
Used to love their Christmas Beer & go out of my way to get it years ago. Then there was a million & one different craft beers & it was beer overload. In reading about the closure it seems odd Sapporo bought them out, then basically did nothing to try & stay competitive.

Re: Any Spyderco Enthsiasts on the Monterey Bay?
I went to Palma High School in Salinas - 82-86. Moved that summer back to Georgia. Lived in a subdivision across from Toro Park. My 1st real job was at the McDonalds in Monterey. My Mom worked a newspaper called Coasting out of Carmel. Carmel is also where I bought my 1st Spyderco - a Harpy. Beautif...

Re: Your running knife?
u.w. - always good to hear from fellow PWYP people - PM sent so as not to derail this thread. Re: Bear/pepper spray. If I was still running around my neighborhood I'd of gone that route. After a subdivision was built down the road traffic increased. I then switched to using my boy's highschool track...

Re: Your running knife?
Before my last neck surgery I use to carry a neck knife while running. My only consideration was in case of a dog attack. I live in a rural area outside the city limits & too many people just let their pets roam free. Numerous times I'd be running in my neighborhood & have dogs start followi...

Re: 154CM - Development, Properties, and Legacy
I remember when 154CM and ATS-34 was the cool steel in the knife industry. Then BG42 started showing up and was eventually replaced with S30V. I always preferred 154CM over S30V just because I'd had some chipping issues with some of the early knives in it. Stayed sharp well enough for my needs &...

Re: First pocket knife for kid
Once both my boys got their Whittling Chip in Cub Scouts I got them the same thing - A Victorinox Spartan & an Opinel #8. Eventually they ended up with some various Kershaw Flippers & a bunch of inexpensive Condor Knife & Tool stuff (courtesy of Joe Flowers).
