Re: Delica 4 in 2024?

I've carried a Delica of some sort since they 1st came out. I currently own 2 - a SE ZDP-189, and a FFG in Brown FRN. I originally bought my 1st Delica as an inexpensive beater to replace my Harpy that I'd pawned. The Harpy was the 1st Spydero I'd ever owned, but I wanted a more traditional blade sh...

Re: New Discoveries found in 8Cr13MoV testing

My sample group of 8CR consists of 3 Kershaws. I was impressed with none of them. Edge holding was less than my VG10 Spydercos or 154CM Benchmades. Sharpening them was easy enough, but occasionally they seemed to develop a burr that I'd have to get past to get a good edge. I gave 2 away & held o...

Re: Favorite non spyderco knives?

I was curious what all the fuss was about the Civivi Elementum, so I picked up one with copper scales over Black Friday. I really like it. It is the first non-Spydie I have bought in a long time besides a SAK. It's a great flipper with good action and a reasonable heft to it for a small knife. It's...

Re: 'Almost upon us' carry

Probably my Chaparral LW for any package slicing.

Long ago when my boys were small, I stopped using a knife for Xmas duties and grabbed a pair of EMT Shears.

Carried a Delica for a good bit of my time as an Army Medic, probably still would.

Re: Favorite non spyderco knives?

My work EDC for a while now has been the Civivi Baby Banter. I like it enough that I got a second one. It feels very good in-hand, and it's small size does not make the knife muggles at work nervous. My 1st was a regular Nitro V blade version that I added aftermarket space kitty scales from Knafs. M...

Really hoping for another run of these. Even better would be a change in steel to Cruwear.

Sucks to not be watching my Braves after the **** of a season they had. I'm hoping MLB takes another look at how the playoffs are done. Oh well, as long as the Phillies are out I am happy.

Re: Stok

I handled them at BLADE and I liked them, BUT I'm not a fan of the steel. Lots of other options in that price range with steels I prefer like Nitro V or Sandvik 14.

Re: Maxamet Sage 5 LW Discussions

Handled this at BLADE this year and really liked it. My only concern is if I would be able to properly sharpen Maxamet using my Norton med grit stone or my Spyderco Ceramic med grit stone.

Re: CCW revolver

Ruger LCR is my pick. I use to own a S&W 36-2. Shot it well enough, but always thought the trigger could use some work. Then I traded into a Ruger LCR. Better trigger, no hammer to snag, and I shoot it slightly better. About the only thing I found better about the S&W J-frames is they are s...

Re: Favorite 3” in house spyderco folder?

Delica.

Lil'Temp & Caly 3 are close behind.

I've carried every version of the Delica - from the 1st to the current 4th. Ergonomics are perfect for my hand, does everything I need a knife to do, and it's not so expensive or rare that I'm afraid to use it.

Re: Buried with Spyderco

Most of my knives will be going to my oldest son who inherited the knife-nut gene. The remainder will be split between my youngest son & friends/family. That said, my ashes will be scattered near my Army Unit's memorial on Ft. Campbell. I have thought about leaving one of my knives on it to be u...
