Re: First time spyderco owner--love it!

Welcome! PM2, what a great way to enter the madness. I own more PM2s than any other knives. My favorite is the 52100.

Re: Experiences with walmart.com's Spyderco?

Walmart will sometimes sell the Tenacious, one of my favorites, for under $30 on sale. That is a killer deal on a great gift/beater knife!

Re: Blending EDC with Self Defense

I think that the Military would be my first choice but I also think that the Yojimbo2 is the best blend of SD and utility that you can get in a knife. Yeah and the beautiful thing about the Yojimbo 2 is that it falls well within most blade length laws throughout the country. And with the C-36 Milit...

Re: Hard truths and observations

For me, Spyderco has always represented the well-built, blue collar, line up. They always had their upper echelon knives and along the way the lower budget series, but it was that middle tier that attracted me. I'm not quibbling about whether or not the prices are fair or justified. I'm just accept...

Re: Hard truths and observations

Hi JR, I believe that customers have different levels of KNIFE education and KNIFE understanding. And I might add business understanding. Not trying to be arrogant. Sorry if you feel that. As we look more and deeper into any subject we develop a greater education and understanding of that subject. ...

Re: Hard truths and observations

I know it’s difficult for some to not get emotional when presented with information they don’t like, but sadly that’s just they way things are. In my opinion, the strength Spyderco had was being a major player in the “high value” $80-$130 price point. Constantly moving prices higher, especially with...

https://www.bladehq.com/item--Kershaw-Link-Drop-Point-Knife-Black--75307 USA made knife with M390 blade steel for under $80. Sal states the dollar to yuan rate is 6 to 1. How many M390 knives coming out of China sell for $13? How about we quadruple that price to account for Ti VS Aluminum? Ok, so h...

I went to my go to online retailer to purchase the DLC Shaman for my coworker as a birthday present...and noticed it costs over $200 now! Needless to say, I went a different direction. I own a Shaman and I love it. I was able to get mine for a very deep discount when a retailer miss priced them las...

Re: Sal- New Shaman Configuration??

The 2019 DLC Shaman costs over $200😂😂😂😂 that’s truly laughable for G10 and S30v. The sprints will probably cost $280+/- hard pass.

Re: New reveal policy: is it the end of an era?

But I suspect I will miss the time that we were privileged to have been invited to look behind the curtain so to speak, and I will lament that another company I respect has been forced to bow to the pressure of uninformed, angry individuals. You could use that new found time to develop other hobbie...

Re: Knives you wish you could like

I personally love the PM2, fits my hand like a glove. The Para 3? Disaster. I bought a few of the sprint runs thinking they would grow on me over time, or I must just give them more time in pocket. No, it’s just a pass for me. If you actually cut more than Amazon boxes open with a knife, the Para 3 ...

Re: Thinking about the Shaman

I own the Shaman and love it. The contoured scales are wonderful in hand. I found that going back to the Mili or PM2 after using the Shaman makes those models feel a little cheap/lazy. If $180 is a problem for some, how will the market respond to the price of a sprint? Is it going to cost $220-250....

Re: What were the biggest changes to your EDC habits in 2018?

The Sharpmaker has been the biggest change to my EDC habits. I’ve had a knife in my pocket since I was a little kid and I’ve never enjoyed them more since I started sharpening my own knives! Every single knife that goes in my pocket is scary sharp and I really like that. I bought a used Mili from so...

Re: Left handed

The great thing about Spyderco knives is the spydihole that allows right and left handed people to open them:) I’m left handed and my favorite Spyderco is the Mili....super easy to use left handed. Same goes for the Shaman and PM2, just have to play with them for a while. Benchmades are nice for lef...
