Re: Sharpening Serrated Military 440V
Here are some pictures I took before cleaning the brown rods. The first picture shows the rod prior to cleaning and it is appasrent the 440V did flatten tthe edge of the rod with its serrations. In the second picture you can see the edge of one of the rods where it was not sharpened and it is no whe...

No substitute for a large blade when unzipping fruit. Military CTS-204P Avacado lost that fight.

Re: Finally picked up a Goldenstone
Thank you, well I am certain knowing how Spyderco is when it comes to doing things right, when it is released it will be incredible. I too am a big fan of serrations.

Thanks for the reply Sal nice to know you are a live with us. Is there anyway we could convince you to rerelease the 701 stone kit? I would love to buy it.

Re: Sharpening Serrated Military 440V
Thank you for the continued tips they are very helpful. Fortunately I have all of that on hand. By the way I have noticed Soft Scrub also works on the stones.

Re: Sharpening Serrated Military 440V
Ahhh I was really beginning to think wow that is one Uber tough steel. I will clean the rods and see how it looks. That edge was crazy rough on the CTS-204P I was touching up.

Re: Finally picked up a Goldenstone
Hi, My bad on the Golden stone. I do have a plan but am having execution problems. Still plan a video, 30 degree stand, CBN version. I guess we can considered an ultra fine if the model is successful? I'm on the road right now and have one with me, along with a stand, Duckfoot and double stuff 2. s...

Re: Sharpening Serrated Military 440V
Wow ok this is not cool. This morning I went to touch up a knife and realized one of my sharpmaker brown stones was damaged. I can't believe how hard 440V is, it actually damaged the corner of a brown stone. Discolored it and made it rough on the edge. This is the left one that I used for the serrat...

Re: Sharpening Serrated Military 440V
Today I mailed the 440V Military fully serrated into Spyderco for sharpening and asked what it would take to bring it back to close to new. These instructions will be helpful for keeping it that way when it returns. Does anyone know where to buy the 701's it is strange how Spyderco makes wonderful t...

Re: Sharpening Serrated Military 440V
Just the Sharpener... Which I have to say I am disappointed in. Maybe it just takes time to break in? Any way I got confused by what you meant and just now figured out you meant the 40 degree inclusive on the sharpmaker. You are correct I did try the 30 slots but could tell immediately the angle was...

Re: 2018 Spyderco Forum Knife! Info & Sign-up
No more Para's for me. I own 2 in M390 1 Fully Serrated S30V and sold the others. I went through that small blade phase after the PM2 Phase. But have mostly settled into the larger blades as being just more useful all around. I have several Millies A pair of Lionspy full size A Hungarian What I woul...

Re: Sharpening Serrated Military 440V
Make sure you're actually hitting the bevel, color the edge with a marker and make a few swipes and see where the rods are hitting. You may need to use the 40 slots if you're on the 30s. I assume you are referring to the VEFF Sharpener? Yes did the sharpie coloring in. Still not satisfied I can see...

Sharpening Serrated Military 440V
Does anyone have a good method to sharpen the Spyderco Military serrated bladed version in 440V?
I have the Sharpmaker and a couple of Spyderco honing rods and the duck footed stone as well as a VEFF sharpener but it is getting me nowhere quick.

Sage 5 with compression lock a super slicer and will not scare people. I gave up caring and carry my Militaries. :) of course most of the people in my office conceal carry anyway.
