Guys this thread is from 2018 and the OP hasn't been active in over 4 years.

BearShark44 should have just started a new thread, because no one is actually addressing his question.
Looks like I'm back (at least for today). Hopefully this awakening won't lead to more spending.

Nice collection! I pretty much stopped at the pm2 after trying a few different models. Not saying I won’t try out a few others but the pm2 is my grail knife.
I personally think the PM2 is the best folding knife ever made, buy my Chaparral gets way more pocket time.

Re: My collection and thoughts (so far)

I'm 50 years old, and new to the world of Spyderco knives. I remember when the first models came out, and I remember being a bit perplexed by the big hole in the blade. I mean, who would do that, right? They didn't get my attention back then. Flash forward a few decades and I am no longer a curious...

Re: My collection and thoughts (so far)

Great feed, reviving years later with related question - Does anyone follow guidelines on building their collection? I'm at 4-5 spydies and want to get new sprints, but feels strange buying the same model in a new steel. Right now, my plan had been a different steel in each model, all silver (black...

Re: Spyderco Photo of the Week Contest!

Great pics, folks! This week’s winner is abbazaba, because I’m a sucker for perspective shots. Thanks for making me really want an M4 PM2! https://i.imgur.com/7dB54LD.jpg And our runner-up is Spydergirl88. Big thanks to BRANDON at the SFO!

I took a break from a business trip in Longmont to make the pilgrimage to Golden, and Brandon made it the highlight of my trip. He patiently showed me everything I've ever been interested in, without any sign of annoyance (and I can be annoying at times). In the end, I bought the G-10 Stretch 2 in Z...

Re: Spyderco Photo of the Week Contest!

Hey everyone, my bad for the delay. Judging just slipped my mind last week! Thanks for all the submissions, as always, it was a difficult to choose. Winner this week is cptdean . I really like the detail shot and the soft lighting! Not as common as the full knife shots. Well done. Runner...

Who here carries a fixed blade in your front pocket, and whatcha got?

Do you do it? Does it really make sense over so many excellent folding knives? Is it comfortable, and what are the advantages in a knife small enough to carry this way?

I'm asking all of this because I'm thinking it might be fun to give it a try. Thanks!

Re: Larger Chaparral?

What is your preferred lock type? I love the compression locks because I do sit and fidget with my knives. I haven’t tried a Manix 2 yet, and I don’t mind more back locks if they get the job done. I’m really not into liner locks and frame/integral locks. I’d choose the PM2 blade stock over those.

Larger Chaparral?

I like how slicey my Chaparral is, but I’d prefer it to be as big as my PM2. What’s the best slicer in that size class? (think apple slicing and box cutting)
