Re: Spyderco Mobile IOS App - Giveaway!

Brand new to iPhone. Just downloaded and took screenshot but have no idea how to upload. Error: file to Large So I took a screenshot, Air Dropped to my laptop, did an anonymous post to Imgur (i.e. didn't log in), did a two-finger click on the screenshot, opened it in a new tab, copied the URL, and ...

Stainless steel plates would get very hot sitting in the window under heat lamps

Resized_20180723_145018.jpeg Welp, after about 5 minutes of playing around with it...it already bit me hahaha. Yes, these serrations certainly are sharp! I had the same thing happen to me with my first serrated knife too. It's a Pacific Salt and it hasn't left my pocket since. Enjoy the new addition

Re: Para 3 exclusive at River's Edge Cutlery

I got a chance to stop by the store well traveling home from a wedding last weekend. Super awesome people in there. One of the guys showed me his personal para 3 as they were for sure sold out by the time I stopped in. Really nice little piece. I had a really great experience at the River's Edge.

Re: Any butchers ?

My grandfather was a butcher. I have found memories of visiting him at the "meet market" he ran and owned. I have and still use (occasionally and only in my home) his boning knife. It's an old, white handeled Dexter-Russel. I have used Victorinox boning and filleting knives. They were the ...

Re: Nut-based Milks and related foods: Your views on them?

Coconut milk is the best replacement for darry that I have found. It is thick, rich and creamy but does have a distinct coconut flavor. Some people I know really enjoy the flavor in coffee or cereal. I prefer whole or raw (if I can get it) milk for those applications. I do, however enjoy the flavor ...

Re: Best Sharpening Resources?

A jewelers loupe and a sharpie was a great addition to my sharpening and maintenance tool box. You can mark the edge with the sharpie and use the loupe check your work. This trick can show you an uneven edge bevel, or make sure you are sharpening the entire edge

Is this normal? A hawkbill question

I just got a new Dragonfly salt hawkbill. Definitely seams like it will be one beast of a little knife, but something seams amiss. This is my first hawkbill so I thought I should ask y'all. The tip of the blade is sitting on the inside backspacer portion of the handle when closed. There is a small g...

Re: The Power of Natural Selection

Now that the weather is warm to hot and moisture/ sweat is a real issue, my Pacific salt has taken over as my main work knife (weather it's cooking or construction). Before that, in the cooler months it was my M4 PM2. Evolution of the season By this point I think it's safe to say that my delica 4 wi...

Re: Interesting edge retention results

I carried a Gerber AR 3.0 440A (?) for years. When I got my Delica VG-10, I did notice a difference/ upgrade in all aspects of performance, including edge retention. I also have tried a couple Kershaws in 8cr and they did seem to dull more quickly. Beyond that I have not noticed a difference in stee...

The more knives I try, the more I keep coming back to my Delica. It was my first Spyderco and sent me down this rabbit hole.

Re: Endura / Pacific Salt greatness - who knew?

Hi all, I've been reading this forum for a while and decided to join in on the conversation. I also recently picked up a Pacific Salt SE (first full serrated edge pocket knife) and yeah, wow. I'm in the middle of a six day catering event and have been exclusively carrying it. It is the best knife to...
