Re: Can we get some Ultem scaled Sekis please?
It’s a common material. You can find it all over but here’s a McMaster Carr link. https://www.mcmaster.com/products/ultem-sheets/ Strange. Although it says "Temperature Range: -20° to 335° F", it also says "For Use Outdoors: No". Hmmmmmm. There must be a big downfall somewhere h...

Re: New(ish) Delica is covered in surface rust
Because of the clearly defined rust line, it seems to have been something acidic or salty that you cut without cleaning it off afterwards. Maybe you cut a certain kind of acidic fruit?

Re: Sal, anything you´d like to share on the Golden made BACKLOCK Polestar? (Another "handle forward" knife?)
- With comp.locks and especially linerlocks (and they have their similarities when it comes to what designs are possible) "handle forward" is a lot more common, not so unique and people expect that models can and do feature this (examples being Caribbean or Bodacious) But would a back loc...

It could be something simple. Maybe you live near the shore now or have been around saltwater at some point.

Re: Upping the price.
Hi Born, I carried an Alcyone 2 prototype with a Compression lock yesterday. Today I'll be carrying a Polestar 2 prototype. Tomorrow I'll be carrying a prototype 4.0" version I call "Deep Space" (TM). They all have Compression Locks and Carbon Fiber scales. sal That is great news. Ab...

Re: Upping the price.
the Polestar and Alcyone are very functional patterns, in a good size, but sales were soft. So we changed the handle color and steel to CTS-BD1N, and sales are still soft. 'Tis a puzzlement? It might just be the higher price due to the BD1N? Might be the Linerock? Don't know. Still searching. I've ...

If that happens, I predict a $180+ Delica.

Re: Self inflicted accidental neck knife death - how is a spyderco safer than others?
Just playing devil’s advocate I googled news articles of people terminally hurting themselves with normal knives. There’s quite a lot. Neck knives seem on the face of it far safer than any other sort. Compared to all the people who own regular knives, very few people own and wear a neck knife. So c...

Re: What knife steel and handle are best for cold weather high altitude hiking?
Not trying to get into a contest of who’s at a higher altitude or whose area is colder. They're only making a comparison. If the knives are created just fine at an even higher altitude with a razor sharp edge, then why would your knives spontaneously dull when you take them up to that altitude agai...

Can't believe it lasted so long in stock. Was it because of the surprise drop? A large amount ordered? Or a sign of the economy? Hmmm..... something must be different because this was one of the most sought-after knife exclusives in recent times.

But japan is a very peaceful society in general and probably has more to do with societal norms than knife ownership or restrictions. Also it probably helps to have a geriatric society. Harder to stab when you have arthritis, a bad hip, and sore knees. When it comes to Japan and being a peaceful so...

What BHQ could do is issue a warning about shipping to Canadian addresses because of spot-checks the CBSA uses to prevent delivery. Without such a warning, BHQ looks very much like it cares only to take your money. From their shipping page: "If items get lost, stolen, or seized by customs, we ...

I had a Boker Top Lock with Kraton inserts that was made in the 90's. After about 10 years, the inserts fell out. I tried a few different adhesives but never could get them to stay in again.
