Re: Model request: Enuff in S7 steel

I think he/she is just a pedant. A look at their post history confirms as much. Are you making this statement towards me? I'm making the statement about you, because almost every post I've ever read of yours involves you quibbling with other forumites and being pedantic. No offense, but you come ac...

Re: Edgerati Prototype

If this is the performance version of the Shaman, then I'll definitely have to get one. I think the handle is ugly as sin, and I hope it comes to market without all of those visible holes in the handle (I'd be fine with it if there was a smooth layer concealing the cage latticework underneath), but ...

Re: Edgerati Prototype

* : hate this word, I'm sure I shouldn't have used it here, I never know when to use it ! It should've been who, but I bet you 90% of native English speaking Americans couldn't tell you that, and everybody understands what you meant. If you can replace the word with he/she and still have it make se...

Re: Model request: Enuff in S7 steel

I think he/she is just a pedant. A look at their post history confirms as much. In regards to S7's toughness, I recall that Scott once shot one of his knives with a .41 Magnum. IIRC it bent the blade near the edge, but the second shot at that hit the spine hardly deformed it. Even at the edge though...

Re: Model request: Enuff in S7 steel

Spyderco has already gone to extremes in regards to edge holding and corrosion resistance, I don't see any reason not to do the same with toughness. Just needs to be a design that would benefit from such a steel. S7 is fun to work with. I've abused the **** out of that one I posted, having done thi...

Re: Model request: Enuff in S7 steel

I would love to see a Spyderco knife in S7, but I agree with others that there are better designs it would excel in than the Enuff. I've never seen that Spyderco Forester, but that looks like an excellent candidate. Hopefully, they would use thinner stock though, if they decided to make something in...

Cool to see the Native Chief LW getting so many edge options. I'll be grabbing a blacked out one in PE for sure - I love BD1N. At 3.1oz it must be linerless.
You and me both, brother. I have nothing but high praise for BD1N. It is stupid easy to sharpen and get hair poppin' sharp.

I'm down for a Spyderco-Silky saw collab. That would be awesome. I'm not sure how it would improve it, but I'd buy one anyway.

Re: product idea: Spyderco folding wood saw

the idea that the blade in that Victorinox is remotely comparable in functionality to a Pacific Salt is a stretch. They both separate matter, but the Victorinox blade is thinner, hollow ground, and it weighs less. Still though, the Pac Salt might cut better, easier, faster, more comfortably and hav...

Re: product idea: Spyderco folding wood saw

Just throwing it out there....if we handled everything with the mentality of "why would I buy that when this exists" there is a very good chance this forum wouldn't exist and we wouldn't be knife enthusiasts since there is usually a better tool for any job a pocket knife can be used for. ...

Re: product idea: Spyderco folding wood saw

I chime in with this every time I see it raised. I have both the Spydersaw and the smaller Silky (as well as many others) with the similar blade length (several, actually). It's not even a close comparison. Everything about a Silky saw is better, and I'm a diehard Spyderco fanboy. I wonder if any of...

Spyderco Military fixed blade (Rex45)
Spyderco Delica 4 fixed blade (k390)

Change nothing about the blade stock thickness or shape and nothing about the handle other than making it full tang with a distal taper which would require some more material obvs.
