Re: Stretched Stretch - continued from Straight spine thread
Hi Tims, The handle was designed to fit the hand. The blade was designed to fit the law. I did the same thing with the Delica. sal Not a knock on your design Sal, I can appreciate the reason it is why it is. It was more of a laws be damned thing Here in Oz, where you better be an Architect to carry...

Re: Stretched Stretch - continued from Straight spine thread
Here’s a mildly relevant pic illustrating the room there is for extra steel in the current Stretch 2.

Re: Knife dreaming
Well I got my own Fantasy Spyder Dream. Mine would be a super deluxe version of the C-60 Ayoob model. I would like one in either Carbon Fiber or a really jazzy type of G-10 for the handle scales. I would like the blade to be either M390, S110V, or M-4>> or if they would have to use a Japan Steel th...

Knife dreaming
Inspired by Kingrats ‘Spyderco Retro’ thread. Dear Sal, please design and build the following knife for me. I can’t offer much in the way of actual design, its more of a feeling, I’m confident you understand. It should have, at a minimum, the following attributes. -It’s the epitome of class. -It’s l...

Re: Spyderco Retro?
I’ve often felt like I missed the ‘golden’ era of Spyderco designs. Not at all a knock on recent and current models, lots to like but some of those oldies really speak to me.
The thought of resurrecting some of the classics with modern steels, grinds etc is exciting.

Re: What number of Spydercos are in your active rotation?
I carry ‘em all at one time or another. I go through periods where I favour one over the others but it never really lasts.
My most carried lately would be
Manix 2 LW
Stretch 2
Native 5 LW

Re: Favorite movie fight scenes
Ah, hahaha! Yes, that actually made the six o’clock news a couple of years ago now. :) Big buck Roos (Boomers) are best left alone, Jim. They’re not scared of too much and as you can see they stand their ground. If chased by dogs, they’ll lead them to water and drown them if they can. This r...

Re: V-TOKU 2 Love
Just thought I’d chronicle my experience with V-toku2 and chipping here, incase it helps anyone. My ‘Toku Stretch came with a pretty messed up edge bevel. Partially unground tip and a 5-10mm, heavy burr at the heel. On a new knife, I’ll usually keep the factory bevel for a while and maintain with a ...

Re: Regrinding the Nirvana?
In my experience, the best way to prevent corrosion on a blade is to carry and use it. Often. Using it frequently means you have eyes on it all the time and are more likely to wipe it clean/dry it, than when used infrequently and put in a drawer. Other than that, follow the basic, well documented st...

Yep that’s me, I do allot of cleaning being former Military / Army. It is ingrained with me I took Basic training at 17 so tend to be a bit of a clean freak. Just spent the evening mopping the floors and cleaning the tubs and toilets to me this is proper living, my poor girlfriend / soon to be wife...

3.5-4 inches for me. My preference is for a blade as large as is comfortably pocketable and this seems about the limit
