Re: Spyderco Collaborators You Would Love to See Again?

Sal has a fixed blade of mine in a drawer somewhere, Butterscotch G10 scales and a smaller profile from what I have submitted before, but there is a loooooong list.

Geometry decides ease of cutting...

Steel type AND HT decides length of cutting time...

Micro-serrations type and size decides the aggression...

I am honoured that you chose a Sustain to be a gift to your nephew!

You are a wise man to include a lot of info about metallurgy, safety and piece of mind, especially when dealing with the laws of the land.

Does he also live in Illinois?

The Probe was always one I regret the most about passing on a new one in Barry's Blades in Durban South Africa... It cost twice what an FRN Endura cost at the time... I might source a second hand Salt blade of some sort and make one for me... :) I have Ti plate, so the rust problem should be negliab...

Re: A Month Without Spyderco: Thoughts & Observations

Apart from when I have had to enter restricted places, I have always had a knife of some sort on or near me in a backpack etc. Obviously airplanes have had me place an edge or two in hold luggage. If I am entering a restricted place, I normally leave the edge in my vehicle and so I never have to &qu...

Re: Hey sal:

Basic Tools did make a model or two called the Silver Falcon, and also for Camillus. I know someone who worked for them, hence my info. Back in RSA, I saw a BST trademark and Silver Falcon on the same folder blade, and the scale had a small brassy type medallion of some sort. But I stand to be corre...
