The Jade Green/Mint FRN scales are beautiful. While they may be an odd choice for just any old knife, they're very fitting for a Spyderco.
Bright, cool looking and scream high performance! They kind of remind me of something else fitting that description.

Re: Saturday Mango with Endura 4 HAP40 Cutlery Shoppe Exclusive
Awesome post - thanks for sharing! That HAP40 endura looks like a great user and the zome pattern is super cool. Thanks! I've found that the Endura is a really nice big knife to have in your pocket this time of year because it is light weight, the scales are super grippy and it won't pull your shor...

Re: Sharpening stone(s) for a relative newbie?
I like the Baryonyx American Mutt as a quick work stone for reprofiling and chip repair. The aforementioned King Neo is good suggestion for the next stone in a progression. Steeltoez83 has some good videos on youtube about that. I've actually taken to using the oil trick he covered in one of his vid...

Re: Saturday Mango with Endura 4 HAP40 Cutlery Shoppe Exclusive
I like both ! MG2 They're both great knives. The Santoku is in dire need of a sharpening, but is so thin behind the edge that sharpness is almost negligible. The edge is full of nicks and chips, yet it still keeps cutting and pretty cleanly too. It is the Kohetsu branded Aogami Super Santoku 180mm....

Native 5 is my vote. Best little, big knife in the world. Supreme ergonomics for all hand sizes, what Spyderco does best and it also is just one of the most aesthetically pleasing folding knives I've ever seen. Not sure what it is about it, but it is just a really sleek, cool yet powerful looking li...

Re: Has Spyderco ever made a Spoon?
William Sonoma still has the Grapefruit Spoon and Knife combo for $18. “Part knife, part spoon, this convenient design makes slicing, segmenting and serving grapefruit simple. We built it with a double stainless-steel blade, which cuts through pith and peel smoothly, and a serrated spoon, which pul...

Not long ago I was reading on here about some new Venev stones. The Venev stones I have are from a few years ago and work fine. Yet there I was looking at new ones online and contemplating buying some more. I stopped myself when I realized what I was doing. I have all this good sharpening equipment...

Hah, folding knives have to be part of the zeitgeist. Just look at what prices have done in the last 10 years. Everything can't be blamed on Covid, they seemed to outpace inflation before that too.

The only thing I can imagine would improve on the design is a little more handle contouring. Maybe I'm being unimaginative here, but I'd prefer to leave great alone.

Re: What Spyderco is in your pocket today??
Endura 4 in shorts pocket, Centofante in shirt pocket. The Centofante was one I'd always wanted to try because of its thin blade stock, hollow grind and affordable price. I was lucky enough to grab one at the 2nds sale. Kind of glad I didn't buy it new, the handles are slippery for me and it needs a...

I'm embarrassed to say that I don't use the Hapstone as much as I once was. I cycle through a whole bunch of knives and they usually get touched up on the Sharpmaker as needed. One of these days I'll get the Hapstone back out and thin out some edges Well, don't be. I'm in the same boat as stated in...

https://forum.spyderco.com/download/file.php?mode=view&id=55264 Some people like to use folding knives for kitchen tasks. Why bother? A Z-cut is only $20. It has always sounded suspect to me, but the Endura sure does look like one of those fancy Japanese Chef's Knives. Also, Spyderco has to mak...

I thought you had a dust collecting system installed near your sharpening spot ! I'm tired, I've been making Tenacious and Watu scales all day and my mind must be full of dust :') Haha! I'd definitely do that too if it was easy enough. The idea of inhaling all that removed metal freaks me out. I lu...

Thanks. I've seen some of them, not in that shape though. It almost looks like a sharpened bevel on it. That is the glowing section?

Re: Community Sharpening Journal
the Galley V at 10°, 15° and 20°. 12.5° and 17.5° wouldn't hurt my feelings either. And while we're at it, how about some medium grit cat eye rods as well? I have to agree with this. I haven't used the Galley V since picking it up last fall. 10 dps is probably too limiting. I might be mistaken, but...
