Re: More Reverse-S blades?

I'd go for a compression lock Dodo. (Stop lock, maybe?) Has one from the black G10 run and wound up selling it; loved the blade but too many other models were more my style. I agree with the compression lock! That's the only part of the Dodo that I don't like, the BBL. LC200N with Comp lock= take m...

Re: Spyderco Calypso Jr. Sprint Run Knife Gray (Aogami Super Blue)

BBS has them listed, but do they actually have them? They do have them in stock... but as usual they’re scalping pretty heavily since this is a hot release. $120 for the Caly Jr. +$15 shipping and no returns allowed. Bento is one of the absolute last dealers I’d resort to buying a Spyderco from. Th...

Re: What upcoming Spydercos are you looking forward to the most?

Although I have heard absolutely nothing about this, my most anticipated knife is any sprint run of the Bob Lum Chinese folder. Preferably with G10. That has to be my most sought after Spyderco. Michael, there is one currently available at blade hq. jade g10 and Hap40. It’s the regular size with 3”...

I can check to see if the staff and Gayle are interested? With the smaller knives becoming more PC, it's probably a good idea.

Re: How can you tell if black dlc blades are corroding?

I've never carried any coated DLC blades on the kayak so I don't have any first hand data. About 5 or 6 years ago though, I sold a coated pm2 to a friend who is a boat captain in the marina here. He is out on fishing charters every day and the knife sees a LOT of saltwater. About a year after he bo...

Full Salt SuperHawk SE! Just put an SE Hawkbill blade on the Caribbean frame, it could be done in no time.

Why would you even put that thought in my head JD?
Shame on you! :p

Re: Is the Ladybug worth it?

My wife recently lost her old Camillus Cutlery knife, nothing special but she had it a long time and used it for simple things like opening mail, packaging or cutting loose strings off clothing. Normally kept it in the change compartment in her car. She is by no means a knife enthusiast, but liked ...

Re: Spyderco Models That You Consider As SUPER CLASSICS

Came here to mention the Persian as a super clasic and the Spydiechef as a super classic-in-waiting. Late as ususal. ;) Oh without a doubt Ed Schempp's designs truly have a following. One I liked better during that same era in which the Persian gained popularity was the KRIS model. I've wanted to s...

Re: St. Nick's Knives Exclusive Para 3

This one's a pass for me too, I still have a BBS Para3 that I don't use.

Now if they do a Native or a Shaman, I'm off the fence.

Re: Spydie Talk: Q&A, random info, knife chat

I know this is blasphemous and I will have my head put on a spike, but I could take or leave the compression lock, with one exception. Don't get me wrong, it is a simple yet brilliant design that I believe is one of the strongest locks ever created, but it doesn't seem to suit me. The exception to ...

Re: Spyderco Calypso Jr. Sprint Run Knife Gray (Aogami Super Blue)

It just arrived, it's larger than I thought. The blue/gray is very nice looking.

This is going to be a tough choice on whether to keep it or not.

Mine should be here tomorrow! I may infact use this knife. It won't go to work with me, but it might be nice for around town.

Still scared of rust!

It's down to the Caribbean or Shaman for my next Spyderco, that is after the Native Salt I've had on preorder forever lol.
Get the Caribbean! Wait for a sprint Shaman, the vanilla version is too expensive.

I also wish the Native Salt would drop already!
