Re: eBay selling

Thank you for your gracious understanding in the previous matter, pertaining perhaps to some jealousy on my part. If you offer free shipping, and there is a return, that means you pay shipping both ways. I typically charge $5. If it goes over I pay the difference. Usually first class. Sometimes prio...

Re: eBay selling

I gotcha. Still though. Even a paid membership at bf doesn’t get you that privilege. I sell quite a bit on the bay. I would love to advertise when/what I’m selling to a group of spyderco knife nuts for free. And also FYI, since no one mentioned it, you can still offer the buy it now AND have it be a...

Re: What Spyderco is in your pocket today??

... It's tricky, apparently, to keep all holes in the FRCP and the backspacer portion of the lock concentric with the original holes. If you don't, the lockup will be too slight, there will be blade play, or lockup won't happen. ... That’s what happened to me. Although I didn’t do the screw convers...

Re: eBay selling

I think posting what knives you have for sale on eBay is kind of riding the line of trying to sell here. Just my two cents. I’d hate to see this place become full of eBay “heads ups”.

Not Rambo. But this is the scene that was burned into my childhood mind. Now that’s a knife!

Just delivered to my work! :D Fit, finish, centering are all perfect. Very sharp edge, even ground bevels. Needs to be broken in a bit, but it's a very nice knife indeed! Also came with a DLT Exclusive sticker.

Man that looks good! My spydie envy is tingling. :spyder:

Re: Hard truths and observations

Jimmy Lile did the original Rambo knife. Gil Hibben did the knives for Rambos 3 and 4. He also made a prototype that wasn’t used, but later became a production model that is still available to this day. It’s called the Big John. https://rambo.fandom.com/wiki/Rambo_Survival_Knives Edit:ladybug beat m...

I’ll be getting the VToku2 Meerkat when that drops. That’ll be my suggestion to you. Unique lock, great steel, great color. Definitely has a place in a collection. :spyder:

Re: 2019 Reveal Volume One - Live!

Wow! At 90ish dollars, I wonder how hard it’s going to be to score a para3 lw. These are literally going to fly off the shelves.

Loving the Abel natives as well.

Re: Sling Shots: No Longer A Kid's Toy

I’m sure you already know this, but be careful with how you design your handle. There is a lot of potential energy stored in a cocked slingshot. If you’re using something crazy like an 80 lb draw, the handle needs to be able to withstand at least twice that force at its weakest point. I speak from s...

Re: Cleaning & Maintenance of Spyderco Ceramic Sharpening Stones?

Now some say this damages the stone. These are the people that buy knives to fondle and take selfies with, and gossip about on the internet. They don't actually use anything. That does damage the stone. So does sharpening. Hence the need for lapping. You’re basically removing part of the stone. Res...

Re: What's your trick to remove a wire edge?

I would focus on the med sharpmaker stone. Just be patient and don’t give up. But it sounds like you may not be hitting the apex. I would think a wire edge would catch on the dryer sheet. If you can see reflecting light, even a little, keep going on the med stone. You don’t have to raise a burr, jus...
