Re: HRC Database

These are a few I had tested in the QC lab at my workplace. I still have a Shaman Cruwear to test next week. *PM2 k390 63.4 "Deadboxhero was getting very similar results on his as shown in his posts." *Shaman 4v 65.2 hrc. " I saw the Para 3 models were 64+, but I was still pleasantly ...

Re: More 4V anyone?

Spyderco is killing it on the 4v. I have one of the 4v Shamans, and it has been performing incredibly well. Great edge retention and edge stability. I had it tested in our QC lab today, and it hit 65.2! I saw the Para 3 models were 64+, and they didn't hold back on these either.

FYI, there are 3 available on the Bay for 299 shipped. I know it isn't ideal, but it is below msrp.

Re: Sal the Micarta Man - Shaman flavors poll

I would absolutely love a Shaman in 65+hrc k390. It has an incredible toughness for its hardness and carbide volume. That extra hardness really helps with the fine edge retention. I really hope we see more k390 in other models, but I do think this in a Shaman would be one one of my favorites.

Re: New Arrival - K390 Ranger Green G10 PM2!

Well it seems these weren't pushed to the 64-65 hrc as on the Police 4. The test I just saw was 63.1 and 63.2 for the PM2. Still not bad. I believe I am going to jump on the police 4 now to compare on some rope.

Re: New Arrival - K390 Ranger Green G10 PM2!

This is a very well executed batch of PM2s based on my sample of 2, along with reports I have seen on them. Smooth action, centering is good, and the grinds are dead even. I have used the PMA11 mule for a while now, as well as K2 in10v ,so I was very excited to try out K390 since it typically runs a...

Re: St Nicks Knives Exclusive 4V Shaman - Available 9/19/19

Just yesterday, nothing major. But cut up a bit of the thicker, double walled cardboard and some high psi rubber tubing. Surprised how easily it glided through all of this, even with the DLC and has been used for standard warehouse duties 3 other days without any touch ups. Still cutting paper with...

Re: Bento Box Something Something....

I wonder if this will be another slow burn, or a fast sellout. Most people like the k390, but shy away when it comes to BentoBox.

One things for sure. Buying one is much harder than the blade.
Lol, indeed it is!
I was afraid that this one would be difficult to get feedback from testing data and use due to the limited availability.

Re: St Nicks Knives Exclusive 4V Shaman - Available 9/19/19

Has anyone seen the hrc numbers for this 4v Shaman?
I am assuming it is in the 64-65 hrc range based on reports from the Para 3 4v.

Re: CPM REX 45 | Edge Performance

Hello Jim,
I was just curious if you have used the PM2 or Para 3 in the Rex 45. I have noticed on the s110v military , it has a slightly higher hrc than the Manix 2 or PM2. I am wondering if this may be the case for the Rex 45 family, or if all models seem to have the same performance. Thanks

Re: Sal, Can we get CPM 15v?

15v would sell out in minutes if offered in a Military or Para model. And then 90% of them would not get used Even if 90% do not get used, Spyderco will get the HT right for those that do use them. They know that there are steel guys out here buying their products. Especially with something like 15...

Re: KnifeCenter Para 3 Cruwear

Cpm cruwear performance.... Wow. I am pleasantly surprised as well as intrigued as to the level of fine "razor" edge retention on this steel. For the ingredient levels in this steel to be lower than other steels, I am perplexed at how it can hold such a fine sharp edge for the length of ti...

Re: REX45 vs. CPM 4V

A bit of random info. In Michael Christy's rex 45 video, someone commented that they rockwell tested their Para 2 rex 45 and got 66.5 hrc. This matches the number Sal mentioned a while back. In that video he says that persons knife tested at 64 hrc. Yes, within the video he is referring to a post b...

On the pm2 the same thing happened. It was like it was in 2 separate batches. If it has pre order, they will still get more. It immediately showed discontinued once sold out on the pm2.

Re: CPM 4V | Edge Performance

I have one of the para 3 4v models, but I have not used it yet. I am debating going with the upcoming para 3 cruwear exclusive, but I don't think I would see any edge performance difference vs keeping and using the 4v. Other than Shawn's initial testing, I don't think I have seen any other updates o...
