Re: Strong Smell
This week I purchased a Cat and Chicago from White Mountain Knives to try out some CTS BD1N. Both knives have a strong stinky smell to them. While working in various machine shops during the last 20 years, I've smelled this odor before. My guess is the smell is either the liner steel, some kind of l...

Re: Caribbean back in stock: Still got an old one
So I ordered a caribbean when they came back in stock about a week ago. Just got it in and it is not the cqi version. What dealer did you order from? It was knifecenter. Leaf shape serrated edge. Thanks. I ordered a leaf shape plain edge from DLT 2 days ago. I'll let everyone know if I get the CQI ...

Re: Something I do not understand about the Chaparral
While the first is a CQI procedure, the second is wishful thinking. If you’ve seen the THICK spring and the right channel it lives in, you would think otherwise than Sal’s, “the lock softened as it broke in.” I would be willing to bet that Sal's statement is based on research performed in their lab...

Re: Swayback Lookout Thread
Mine arrived. I don't any have problems opening it one-handed. Nice quality piece, everything looking good except the shinny clip. The clip doesn't fit with the rest of the design, needs a custom clip, I still don't get it why they didn't put the wire clip as the rest of Slisz designs. Still not qu...

Re: Damasteel UK Penknife UKPK - DAMASTEEL PATTERN
Which Damasteel? Isn't choosing the alloy a pre-requisite to choosing the pattern? A list of the various Damasteel alloys is here: https://damasteel.se/our-steel-alloys/ The actual steel type used is _a lot_ more important to me than the pattern. I VASTLY prefer DC18N to DS93x or DS95x. If this kni...

The boys at BHQ just went above and beyond for me, they deserve some praise for their love of the people. I'm blown away Other than giving us the opportunity to purchase this knife, what did BHQ do for you that's so special? I give all the credit to the knife makers in Golden. Thank you, Spyderco. ...

Re: Blade HQ copper rex45 pm2
I was just told by a collector club member that these scales were made by flytanium. Can anyone confirm? I very highly doubt that Spyderco would put Chinese garbage on a knife coming out of the Golden facility. As opposed to the Sharpmaker, the Byrd line, and cheaper Spyderco-branded knives that co...

Re: Blade HQ copper rex45 pm2
I never get any notifications from dealers, until the stuff is gone. I stopped trying on that front, I just try to keep my eyes peeled here. Didn't work this time. To be fair to BHQ, they did announce in advance exactly when the knives would be available to purchase. Where exactly did bladehq offic...

In a YouTube video, Eric specifically talks about how difficult it was to manufacture these scales. If I remember correctly, it's near the end.Liquid Cobra wrote: ↑Wed Jul 01, 2020 12:35 pmI was just told by a collector club member that these scales were made by flytanium. Can anyone confirm?
