Re: My first Spyderco

I would do the Endura or Delica.
The Stretch 2 is a great one as well.
I'd skip the Military and PM2 at first and go for something slicier. The Kapara seems great.
The Police 4 is sick but the k390 on it can be a handleful.

I'd start with one of the Japanese frn models.

How to those Northwoods cut with the saber grind? I've never spent the additional premium on those becuase I'm unsure of the saber in use. But I ...

Right now I have the mid sized Nutsac and it has served me well. Very durable. I am on the lookout for something classier.

Re: Hello, why do you guys like Spyderco?

What really got me into Spyderco was how many specialized knives they have. So many companies make general use type knives that are designed to try and do everything-- vanilla edc or tactical, no matter what levels of trim or material. Spyderco does have many edc or tactical orientated knives. But, ...

Feeling like I'm one of the few these days who are actually using the GEC instead of just buying them up as soon as they're released and then just ogling.

Re: New knife, uneven grind

I'd say one, maybe two, out of twenty. Not 5 of 10. Besides, why does the edge even matter that much? You're just going to sharpen it. I buy GEC's that range from $80 to $150 new that have way way worse edges out of box. It isn't a big deal. Spyderco supplies a good knife with a sharp edge. Make it ...

Re: What is more resistant to rust - DLC'ed carbon steel or plain stainless?

It just depends for me. If it is a traditional, I wouldn't accepted coated (they don't make them anyway). Fot moderns, it depends on the steel. I would prefer k390 to be coated. My P4 rusts from looking at it. I prefer m4 coated as well. But wity steels like d2, cru wear, 3v, etc., it doesn't matter...

Re: Ideas for "sprint runs", NOT concerning steel (let´s dream...)

insert miniminimanix joke here. I'd love any of the following: - Manix XL with no jimping at all anywhere on the handle, with canvas micarta scales, and the point of the thumb ramp rounded off. - Endura 4 sprints runs re-done with the Endura 3 handle. - C95 Manix sprint run with 3mm blade stock and...

I will say, the freek with the red and black g10 and m4 steel is tempting. Wish it was $50 less though.

Re: Benchmade bugout or mini freek

Is the mini freek the new one with red and black g10 with m4 steel? Or is it just a smaller version of the freek that came out first? If it is just a smaller version, I'll say 2 things. 1) That contoured and soft handle is very very comfortable. 2) it is a literal nightmare getting in and out of the...

Re: Payson= PAY:SON

I'm of the mind to not say a knife isn't worth what it costs until I try it. I was skeptical that the Slsyz Bowie and Sebenza were worth what they are until I got both. And then spending $200 on a fixed blade felt stupid to me until I did that twice and was overjoyed both times. Of course, a few hav...

Re: Thumb Stud Spydercos

I'll take a two hand opener with a nail nick before a thumbstud or thumb disc. I've got a couple knives left with studs and I hate deploying them for that reason.

Spydiehole, auto button, flipper, nail nick.
