Re: Microjimbo

I was fortunate to get to handle a Microjimbo at Blade Show with Michael Janich. He was so nice to tell me the history of the way he designed the original Yojimbo and showed me his personal carry! The Microjimbo is going to be a great knife for those who like smaller blades. I liken it to a short bl...

Re: Waterway

At Bladeshow in Atlanta this year, there was a Waterway in the prototype cabinet. It was the same LC200N production model Spyderco has offered in the past. I asked the guy running the booth at the time what changes were coming for the model and they didn’t know.

Re: Atlanta Blade Show

The Spyderco booth was super busy all weekend as usual. Talking with Michael Janich at the prototype booth was a huge highlight for me. The Microjimbo is an amazing folder. The handle is not micro, fits very well into the hand. The blade is just scaled down, but perfect for those preferring the smal...

Re: Are you going to Blade Show ATL June 2nd-4th?

I’ll be there Friday & Saturday. The Spyderco booth is always one of the most popular and fun to visit. Cat wait to see the prototype’s for possible future models.

Re: Best Spyderco for Backpacking

Simple, a Delica and a fixed blade. I’ve carried that combo for many backpacking trips. The steel is up to your discretion. I’ve had a VG-10 and Hap40 in my pocket for most trips. Either have done fine and given me no problems whatsoever.

Re: Endura in 52100

I’d buy an Endura in 52100! I would prefer a Delica, but either would be nice. 52100 takes some care, but is an amazing steel!

I carry my G10 Delica clip less. They ride very nice in the pocket with their skim profile.

Re: Bladeshow 2021

The Spyderco booth was full of people today as usual. I got a cool poster of all the blade steels & models. My favorite prototype was the Paramilitary 2 plain edge Civilian type blade. There was Techno 3 and McNees Dixon. They even had a Spyderco canteen cup in the prototype case. Any idea what...

Cache Lake Country: Or, Life in the North Woods by John J. Rowlands

A very fine memoir; my idea of a perfect summer read. I highly recommend it if you enjoy the outdoors.

Re: Spyderco at Blade Show ATL 2020?

It is nuts for them to keep hanging on and hoping things will be back to normal in August for the show. The list of makers and companies backing out keeps growing daily. That should be an indication for them to concentrate on a big return in 2021. I bought a ticket a while back, but have decided not...

Re: Swayback Lookout Thread

I’m going to Blade Show in August. Looking forward to stopping by the Spyderco booth to get the Swaysback in my hand. That’ll be the deciding factor for me. Several years back, I got Marcin Slysz to show me the proto for the Techno 2 in person. He is a super nice guy. I have all his designs so far a...
