Spyderco's official policy is that factory seconds are not eligible for the factory warranty or sharpening service. If you want to rely on the outlet sharpening your knives for you, you'll just need to buy full priced knives.

I think your stones must be worn out. I just recently reprofiled a Maxamet Para 3 using Hapstone CBN Start stones and I couldn't believe how easy it was.

Got mine today. Worst lock stick I've experienced with a PM2 to date. Everything else looks good aside from the edge grind being 20ish degrees on one side and 15ish degrees on the other. That seems to be the norm with Golden Spyderco's now.

15V has quickly become my favorite steel. Been carrying a PM2 in it all summer and I'm a pretty sweaty dude. Doesn't show any sign of corrosion or patina. If it makes you feel any better I'm seeing a lot of initial reports of quality control issues with this release. Many of them appear to have very unevenly ground blades. So on the bright side you may have missed out on having to deal with that.

Spyderco knives are very easy to take apart and put back together. There are tons of videos on YouTube with step by step instructions.
