That first place winner is truly excellent :spyder: And the rest are gorgeous as well. This is a calendar I'm looking forward to hanging on the wall, for sure! Congratulations to everyone!

Re: Subvert Sprint CF/20CV!
Tell me if I’m not thinking of something, but what exactly does the spine whack test do that translates to real world? Seems you’d never actually put pressure on the blade that way unless you are using your other hand to push down on it. In that case there’s not a safety issue, same with batoning i...

Re: BYRD as transition towards Spydie knives (or NOT)
I have Byrd knives and Spyderco knives. I have a $300 Microtech switchblade and a $15 Mora Companion. As a knife's price increases, you will usually get better fit and finish, fancier and prettier materials, and sometimes more creative and experimental designs that are fun to try. Also, sometimes th...

Nice, the scales almost look blue in that one, in the crabapple tree.

Re: Calendar Contest
#7 is the most visually interesting I think. Many of these are pretty cool though, although with some of them, the aspect ratio may not work for the calendar -- they'd have to crop them to get the correctly-proportioned rectangle, and parts of the knife might get cut off? Sorry you missed the deadli...

Re: Wharnie Endura K390. Where is the love?
A bit off topic, but I really wished the "middle ground" Endela would have gotten the blade stock thickness of the Delica (2.5) and not the Endura (3.0) Ah that would have made it even better, yeah. I have a wharnie Endela in the standard VG-10, which lives in my kitchen drawer to cut pac...

Re: Overlooked, Obscure Models Deserving Of A Sprint Run?
Catcherman. It's both longer and lighter than a standard Pacific Salt. Run it in any of the salt steels in PE or CE and I'm in. Unrealistic bonus request: Modern clip. Never was a fan of the molded on clips. I think people would line up around the block for a version of the Catcherman. Oooo the Cat...

Re: Overlooked, Obscure Models Deserving Of A Sprint Run?
I'd like to see another run of the Lum Tanto. Been wanting one of the jade G-10 variants for awhile but they're all so expensive (and rare!) on eBay.
A Slysz Bowie sprint would probably sell like hotcakes.

Re: What are your favorite large spyderco folders?
Native Chief and the Amalgam. The later is criminally overlooked. I plead guilty about the Amalgam . MG2 Edit: and as previously mentioned, the Amalgam is a criminally underrated knife. It's definitely my favorite compression lock flipper, and probably my favorite compression lock model overall. An...

Re: Amalgam Pictures !
I really like that photo, Dan. The slight angle that shows off the gleam of metal in the compression-lock area of the knife, the lovely Amalgam blade shape, and all the different textures of gray. Great one
