Re: What Spyderco is in your pocket today??
Out for an evening walk. I acid etched the wire clip this afternoon, came out nearly the same shade of gray as the G10. That looks great, could you possibly share the technique you used? Been considering doing something to make my Amalgam's clip less shiny and stand-out-y. I like the shade of gray ...

Re: Robin 2 just my type
Byrd really is a great value. I have one of the Rescue Cara Caras as a car knife, and I lie how solid and strong it feels. Not a fancy tool, but a good and useable and dependable one.
Enjoy the new Byrd!

Aftermarket washers, ball bearings, etc
So I may have damaged the ball bearings on my Amalgam while removing a baseboard from my house, and went looking for a replacement... There are a lot of aftermarket bearings on the market. Does anyone have any experience with any, or recommendations for a good retailer? Should I go for washers inste...

Not pictured are my backup copies of the Amalgam, Rescue 2, Endura 3, and blackout PE Native 5.

I don’t think the OP is referring to the sharpness of the hole, but to the rough unfinished interior of the hole. Going back and rereading, I see you are correct. My bad. I think I was conflating the two issues in my mind, because all my knives that have the one issue also have the other, and they ...

Re: Is this normal spyderhole finish? [Seki city quality]
All my newer Seki knives have this, I attack 'em with some super fine sandpaper for a few minutes when I receive them, and that fixes it right up. A bit annoying, but I guess a lot of people like the sharper edges, because it's helpful when you're trying to operate the knife with gloves on.
