Byrd really is a great value. I have one of the Rescue Cara Caras as a car knife, and I lie how solid and strong it feels. Not a fancy tool, but a good and useable and dependable one.

So I may have damaged the ball bearings on my Amalgam while removing a baseboard from my house, and went looking for a replacement... There are a lot of aftermarket bearings on the market. Does anyone have any experience with any, or recommendations for a good retailer? Should I go for washers inste...

All my newer Seki knives have this, I attack 'em with some super fine sandpaper for a few minutes when I receive them, and that fixes it right up. A bit annoying, but I guess a lot of people like the sharper edges, because it's helpful when you're trying to operate the knife with gloves on.
