Re: Smaller chokwe
Compression lock, deep carry wire clip, G10 scales. Maybe S30V or S35Vn for the blade steel. It's not as exotic as some of the newer stainless steel out there but Spyderco seems to have the heat treat dialed in great. S30V would also help keep the price down compared to something like Maxamet. Heck ...

Re: Desperate need of help
I'm glad to hear you got your collection back, but sorry to hear that you had to pay. Hopefully the case is quick to go to trial and you can ask the judge for restitution sooner, rather than later

Re: Knives going out of stock in Canada?
There was a post about this issue earlier in January. It's become an issue due to the CITT ruling on a case where an individual tried to import five kershaw skylines that were seized, and the subsequent appeal was dismissed. That particular case led to the change in the definition of a "flick k...

Re: Euro edge lock strength
I examined mine closely and yes, there are two internal stop pins. Thanks to everybody who replied, I got my answer

Re: Euro edge lock strength
Yes, stop pin is what I was referring, and I had not considered an internal stop pin as a possibility. Unfortunately I don't think any of us would be willing to potentially damage such good pieces to find out.
I know I'm not, and I'm not gonna ask anyone to do it either lol

Euro edge lock strength
Hey guys, I'm interested to know if any Euroedge owners out there have experienced any lock failures. I know liner locks can be spotty, but I've personally never had issues with them. That being said; I noticed that the Euroedge lacks an over travel pin, something I was under the impression was requ...

Re: CBSA going after flipper type opening
Be interesting to see how this plays out. I spoke to a large Canadian dealer yesterday and they are very worried. Lots of uncertainty. Personally and as just an end user, I am not ordering any more folders from outside of Canada until or if this mess gets fixed. I will still have knives shipped to ...

Re: CBSA going after flipper type opening
Hey guys, thought I'd share this with everyone who has been worried about the recent ruling. I was at a local cutlery store and I spoke with the manager about it. He said that it's pretty much a yearly thing and it typically only affects individuals ordering from the US. Larger stores and companies ...

Re: CBSA going after flipper type opening
I strongly encourage all of us that will be affected by this to mail or contact our local MPs as well as filing a complaint with public safety Canada. I think CBSA and the CITT thought they'd get to quietly implement this new made up interpretation without any backlash. Let's make ourselves heard, a...

Re: CBSA going after flipper type opening
Exactly how I'd respond :D I'd carry an Aqua Salt or Street Bowie on my belt, keep it visible, and go on with life. It wouldn't be long before they realized how psychotic that looks. I saw a large guy wearing a Bowie in the mall once. It looks insane. 17 times worse than a large folder. If we all d...

Re: CBSA going after flipper type opening
Yeah no kidding. At least we have Warriors and Wonders That's where I order from. I wonder what new knives they can get in. They have a few 'coming soon' listings for 2018 catalog models such as the grey G10 Shabaria sprint. So time will tell just how far CBSA will take their new interpretation.

Re: CBSA going after flipper type opening
Which company is that? I know Kershaw and ZT say on their website they will no longer ship assisted opening and flipper knives to Canada, but nothing about all folding knives. GPknives. I've never ordered from them, but checked their shipping info for a certain knife. Ouch. That’s brutal. Yeah no k...

Re: CBSA going after flipper type opening
Then here is the question: How can we convince the anti knife crowd that carrying a knife is necessary for our "sensitive mental and emotional well being". or is this a dead end? Probably a dead end lol, might have better success at helping people realize that "knife" is not syn...

Re: CBSA going after flipper type opening
Maybe all us Canadians should just start carrying 6+ inch fixed blades as our EDCs. When people freak out and ask why, I'll just say the powers that be decided my pocket knives were more dangerous. Finally an excuse to EDC my Spyderco Warrior everywhere..... I think this is where we'll all end up g...

Re: CBSA going after flipper type opening
Being a fellow Canadian Spyderco collector I find this extremely frustrating. What's most frustrating is that such knives already in Canada still are not actually prohibited. CBSA has just decided to interpret the deliberately vague definition in the CC to block as many knives as possibe it seems. I...
