Re: Smock at DLT

The Smock is really crying for an XL version, the design is incredible but it’s diminutive size size hampers it from being more useful, the Choil in the blade needs some work also it is too tiny and sharp to really use. I agree completely. the current smock has its place, but I sold mine because it...

Re: Knife too thin

I generally love using good thin blades more than thicker ones, because they just function much better for what I use them for. I would ask for my pocket favorites, like the smock, and the Pm2 to come 1-1.5mm thinner, but I know comp lock knives have to have blades of certain thicknesses, as per Sal...

Re: Practical Uses For Hawkbill and Reverse S Blades?

I like hawkbill PE knives because it fits well for what I use my EDC knives for. The reason I would prefer not to carry a SE edged hawkbill is because I'm not cutting rope and doing tasks that are catered to that type of edge very often. A PE hawkbill is something I can get and keep wicked sharp, an...

Re: REX45 Wharncliffe Interest

We have already seen the hap40 wharnie in delica, so a rex45 would sort of be redundant, although I wouldn't complain. I know blade shape and steel variations isnt what it is know for, but I would love to see the chaparral with this configuration. I think the Rex45 steel would compliment the thin bl...

Re: Straight Razor from Spyderco

Honestly, if I could clamp the straight razer with my wicked edge, I'd be in. Straight razors have sharpening guides built in. There’s no need for anything but a flat stone to hone them. Diagram is about stropping but the only difference is the direction you move the blade. Could you elaborate on t...

Re: Straight Razor from Spyderco

I actually used the super blue man bug as a razer for a few months and it worked just fine. I would be interested in an actual straight razer if the shape were a little less traditional. Honestly, if I could clamp the straight razer with my wicked edge, I'd be in. I'm thinking something made of hap-...

Compression lock hawk style knife ideas

Hello everyone, I'm not one who posts on here very often, but I do read many of the posts here. I was looking at the Microtech hawk knife that they've recently re-released, and I was thinking of why Spyderco hasn't made a proper compression hawk knife yet. I'm not one for automatic button knives mys...

Still patiently waiting for these to get packaged so they can ship. Crazy how packaging time can literally eat up months of time.

Re: Favorite straight-edge blade design?

I personally prefer the reverse tanto style of wharncliffe, but I really like all the wharncliffe knife styles. I feel like spderco hasn't made very many, if any, really nice edc wharncliffes that use the compression lock other than maybe the smock. I would love for spyderco to make a compression lo...

Re: Z-Cut Spyderco Food Prep Knife in BD1N!

FYI, We were the first company to introduce a Santoku to the Western world back in the 80's. Now everyone makes one. I deigned the first offset in the 80's as well. It was an 10" knife designed to compete with the Ginsu. We never got around t making it, just too busy. Now everyone makes one so...

Re: s90v SHAMAN IS OUT

Question for those who have received their Shaman S90V. Mine arrived today. This is my first Shaman and I have a question about the action when closing the blade. All the comp lock Spydercos I have when I fully depress the lock bar the blade essentially falls shut. With this Shaman I received, when...

Re: s90v SHAMAN IS OUT

Let me say that I love the look, feel in the hand, and weight of this beautiful knife, as well as the steel. I just feel like it is not near as smooth as my other compression lock spydies, such as my cf yojimbo, para 2, and sliverax, which all free fall down and flick open with ease. This CF Shaman ...

Cannot wait for these to drop. Just want to make sure I grab one quick before/incase they sell out within the hour they drop. I'm assuming that they will come sooner than later if they were already on the European online markets.

Re: Yojimbo Love?

I would love one that had thinner blade stock like the pm2 or even thinner at 2.5mm. This plus any other modifications that could make it a better slicer and everyday user for simple cutting tasks. There is only a few options out there for wharncliff compression lock spydercos, and this one is my fa...

Quick questian to Sal, what thickness are we looking at with the Z-Cuts? The thinner the better for me.
Also, it does appear that they are fully flat ground, correct?
