Re: First Spyderco in decades - first impression of my new PM2
Yeah, there are a lot of different hands out there and a lot of different knives to put in them. The PM2 seems to be one that fits in a great many hands and pockets incredibly well, including mine! Good on you for giving it such a long time to prove itself, and good luck finding your handmate! Thou...

Re: First Spyderco in decades - first impression of my new PM2
Not that anyone was clamoring for it, but thought I'd post an update after 3+ months. Pros: -Blade broke in nicely, to the point of swinging free when the compression lock when engaged. -Maintained the factory edge nicely over the last 3 months without any sharpening -Awesome looking knife Cons: -Co...

I'd say that pretty much covers that issue. Thank you.

Re: Anyone see Apostle P's rant on Spyderco?
Man, Sal really needs to kowtow to this guy. He is absolutely bashing spyderco. There's obviously some kind of ulterior motive other than just giving an opinion. What a piece of crap this guy is. It's so easy to see that he can not and will not give an unbiased opinion based on the knife in his han...

Re: Red loctite
We're having a major meeting on all of these issues on Tuesday. sal Not sure why some are writing off the brand so quickly. This is pretty dam*ed responsive. Imo this is one of those cases where its better to not have it. In the grand scheme of big manufacturing, you're probably right - 3+ months f...

Re: Red loctite
With Spyderco using Red Loctite in it's new releases, I've backed off of buying Spyderco knives, and moved on to other higher end knife manufactures. :( I tried to get past it but between the comments made by staff and the prevailing "Spyderco can do no wrong" winds, I'm over them as well...

Re: Policy on replacing stripped screw heads?
And how, pray tell, is Spyderco to know what the user was doing when the screw was damaged? For example, did they damage the pivot screw while trying loosen it a bit to make the knife more "flickable" or while attempting to disassemble it? Good question - I suppose that depends on Spyderc...

Re: Policy on replacing stripped screw heads?
Between this and the other related thread, I'm now completely confused. The warranty and Sal's comments are pretty clear on Spyderco's opinion of disassembly. You guys have gone so far as to use Red Loctite to, from all outward appearances, make it that much more difficult to tear down the product....

Re: Policy on replacing stripped screw heads?
2. Discourage users from maintaining and modding their knives = stop replacing parts that are broken during disassembly Dont in any way, shape or form mistake my criticism of the policy for anything other than what it is. I'm not slamming Spyderco, I'm not bagging on their products and I'm not call...

Re: Policy on replacing stripped screw heads?
Wow. Complete over-reaction on both ends of the equation here. It's a bit sad when certain people can't let things go and turn every thread into a partisan fight. If you don't like the warranty, go somewhere else. You dont find "If you dont like it, go away" to be an over-reaction on one ...

Re: Knife Rights: Fed. Court Upholds Bogus NYC "Stop & Flick" Arrests - Appeal to Follow
I grew up in Upstate NY and routinely carried a folder without an issue - including a Spyderco. Nowadays, I leave everything even remotely "dangerous" at home when I fly out to visit. The ridiculous laws combined with haphazard enforcement depending on location basically turn self defense ...

Re: Red loctite
Seems there is actually a slight difference in the way the screws are machined on the m2 and pm2 in recent production. At least this is what I have noticed. The screws I have found on the newest ones strip much easier then ones that are slightly older. Upon close inspection there is a visible diffe...

I like the looks of it open and closed, but I'm not at all confident in my ability to pocket carry that monster. If the price is right, I might grab one and hunt down a sheath for it.Larry_Mott wrote:100 Paces looks cool open, but man what a train wreck closed.. :/
