Re: Manix2 4v marbled carbon fiber exclusive
Not FFG? No Backlock? $230? No thank you, I forsee this knife stagnating. HA, if there is anything remotely stagnant about the sales it will be due to price. I remember sitting on the REC exclusive Para 3 thread when everyone was talking about how ugly it was, now everyone on there is complaining a...

Re: St. Nick's Knives Exclusive Para 3
Of course I missed this! How long did it take to sell out? Any idea if they will release more? When I spoke to them they said it depended on how the sale went as the Delica did not sell as well as they thought it would when they first introduced it. If they just sold 600 knives in under 50 minutes ...

Re: Superhawk Sprint??
Funny, when the Spyderhawk sprint was announced I was thinking "GREAT!!!", then looked at it and thought, "why did I want this???". I didn't realize the SUPERhawk was what I had seen that I really wanted, so seeing it asked about as a sprint has me enamoured all over. Size, shape...

Re: Para 3 exclusive at River's Edge Cutlery
It always said August. The first batch in July was earlier than they said, so I don't know if that is an actual indication of the next batch.

Re: What would YOU pick for the next sprint?
Para 3 LC200N Full Spyderedge Green Contoured Canvas Micarta (I know they don't use it, so G10 is fine, but Micarta gets grippier when wet and I prefer it overall). I have no preference on the type of green, Neon, OD, Similar to the Green Delica, whatever. Coated Blade, color dependant on the scale ...

Re: Smock Flipper
What it looks like, and based on a similar terminology on some Hogue knives, there is a detent that is stationary, or likely on some sort of flexible bar, which is not part of the lock. This detent would provide the resistance to opening to allow good flipper action and also prevent the knife from o...

Re: Smock Flipper
The catalog image is older, the dual mounting options are new, so the production model will have abmi carry option.

Re: Smock Flipper
As long as it can be done with one hand it shouldn't be an issue though. Won't be an issue. I'm just a bit disappointed because so far nobody makes something like this that can just close, without the second detent. I've got a Hogue flipper that has a button lock and a second detent, I'm just reall...

Re: Smock Flipper
Ugg, so basically it doesn't close all the way unless you push the blade closed (secondary detent).

Re: Smock Flipper
If it's carried in the left hand is it likely the button could be depressed accidentally? Eric said the button won't open the blade WAIT, WHAT???? After watching some videos again, I have to ask, does pushing the button move the detent out of the way when closing? The original smock can be opened b...

Re: LC200N Caribbean
What I would like to see is a serious, no-holds-barred test between H1 and LC200N for corrosion resistance. None of this soak-it-in-saltwater-for-an-hour-and-see-what-happens stuff - I want to see them exposed to saltwater for a month - or until one of them begins to rust. I think the aquarium at t...

Re: Para 3
Mine was stiff for a long time. If it was loose enough to be smooth there was blade play. I'm not suggesting you do this, but i took the blade out, polished the washers on a strop, ran the part of the blade near the pivot on my worksharp very fine belt just to polish it up a bit. Put it all back tog...

Probably similar to a sage 5.jimmd wrote:I wonder what the thickness of the blade stock and handle will be. The Smock SK23 has a lot of great features, but it's thicker than I like.
The photos and videos I've seen of the Spyderco Smock lead me to believe it may be thinner, which would be nice.
