Re: A gift from Eric and the Spyderco team!
That’s pretty impressive. The quality people from the top down that run Spyderco are yet another reason that I am glad to support their business in cluttered knife market. That was a first class move. Congrats!

I had to laugh! I vote for this. My K390 version is a slicing piece of art.

Re: 52100 Native Chief?
As a 52100 virgin, somebody please explain to me the attraction. And it's gotta be more than "easy to sharpen." Is it the toughness y'all like? I enjoy the steel. From what Doc Dan has posted in the past, he lives in the tropics and I can see where corrosion resistance is more of a concer...

52100 Native Chief?
I know that Golden is at capacity limits in pushing knives through but I wonder if there is a chance that we will see a 52100 Chief? I know that a lot of people have their issues with it but it’s my favorite steel that Spyderco puts out and it’s the perfect platform for it. On the opposite end of th...

Re: Objective Question
Military for me. The large handle allows use with gloves and there is plenty of room for a variety of grips. The slight negative blade angle keeps your wrist at a comfortable angle for longer use.

Scale Swap on a GB2?
Let me start by saying that I have never done a scale swap and I rarely disassemble my knives unless it's a complete necessity because I figure the factory got it right the first time. That said, how easy is a scale swap on a GB2 as compared to other models? Would it be reasonably easy for a first t...

Re: Super Blue steel, how does compare to S30v?
The only real advantage in SB over S30v is that it is fun to sharpen and easily gets wickedly sharp. The edge retention isn’t the greatest though.

Re: The Brown Noise (aka That Other Brown Knife)
I read it on the forum (sorry, I’m not sure who to credit) and it kind of stuck with me but I too could buy a small used car with the knives that are put away that I no longer really use but will take out on occasion to enjoy handling or just think about. I think you nailed it with ever evolving tas...

A Military sprint run before they release the Military 2! I know that it’s just a daydream but it’s all speculation anyway so why not hope?

Re: What exclusive would you like to see?
I would like to see a purple, DLC Cruwear Native 5 from DLT. I am hoping that’s not too far of a stretch and that it’s in the works sometime soon. I don’t think that we’ll see it but I also agree with the Manix in 3v. That would trump the Native pretty fast.

Re: Para 3 Lovefest, Where Did It Go?
I never cared for the Para 3 but I can see the appeal to a niche market. I agree with some of the above comments that, for its size, it is missing part of the knife. For me, it’s an awkward knife that’s missing part of the blade if I really need to work with a knife and if I want to carry something ...

Re: "sharpener's steels"
Best I've experienced = 52100. My Military sprint is just a joy to sharpen, it takes practically nothing to get it blazing sharp. Worst I've experienced = 154CM. I had one of the original Manix 2's when they first came in this steel, and it was the gummiest, burr prone nightmare to sharpen. Might h...

Re: Next GOLDEN ERA Sprint Run Desired?
Large Persian with Micarta scales, bolsters and a modern steel upgrade, coming from Seki possibly K390? I also always thought this knife would make an excellently wicked SE version.

Re: DLT Cruwear Endela
I love the color combo, but I'm not sold on Cru-Wear. I could look up how awesome Cru-Wear is, or just post it here. Cruwear isn’t my favorite steel but I like it, and like you, I like the color combo. I am sure there are plenty of people on the board willing to offer up greater praises for Cruwear...

DLT Cruwear Endela
I haven’t seen this posted yet so I thought that I would put it out there. I am pretty excited about this one. It will be my first Endela and in a combo that I really like.

Re: What's your LEAST favorite of all your favorites?
It’s the Swayback for me. It’s one of the most uncomfortable knives to use that I own and one of the most disappointing Spydies that I have, but every time that I start to get rid of it I end up holding off and putting it back in the drawer. It’s a very attractive knife.
