Re: MT23P - Mule Team Fixed Blade with CPM 20CV
I'll be all over this one. Excellent steel. Might even bump my RWL 34 off the belt......

Re: Para 3 vs Sage 5
Personally for a choice between the S30V knives I've chosen the Sage 5. Better slicer (should be anyway with the thinner blade stock) and I love the wire clip.
But I'll grab me some PM3 action maybe in burple or another sprint down the track.

Re: Compare S30V to S35VN
In use I don't notice a difference. But sharpening I find S35VN easier to polish if I'm dropping the primary bevel down. Both touch up easily on the sharpmaker for a micro bevel.

Re: Manix 2 Lightweight - Steel Options
I was in the same boat. I opted for a Manix 2 LW CTS-XHP. Figured it is a steel I can field touch up, but hold a edge better than BD-1. First fastpacking trip this weekend just gone. Passed with flying colours. Made 8 small hardwood tent pegs and various camp chores. Was still shaving arm hair and h...

Hi, although you are just playing with these things but I think its not safe. So there are many other things you can do other than this. You must sit on the rug and play the cards! I can think of a few things you could play with........ This is a knife forum mate. And the carpet needed cutting up t...

Re: PM2 in M4
I'm a big M4 fan. I have a CF PM2 & a Mantra. Really holds a fine edge well. And it's easy to get back with a small micro bevel on the SM. Mine are both wearing 12dps polished primary bevels. Once that's dulled I've been giving them the odd few light sweeps on the SM fine stones on the 30 degree...

Can FRCP scales be RIT dyed
Just wondering if the Manix 2 lightweight FRCP scales can be dyed darker colours with RIT dye.
I'm keen on the new CTS-XHP Manix 2 LW but not the brown scales. But I have some black RIT dye in the draw.......

Re: C101PBN2 Manix 2 CTS XHP Brown FRCP Knife Center Exclusive
Can you RIT dye the FRCP scales as you can FRN? (or will it not take easily like G10)
I have one in my cart to order as the middle ground of XHP vs BD-1/S110V is appealing to me. But brown.... Not a fan. If it'll RIT dye black I have the dye anyway from a yellow DF2 salt.

Re: Domino vs Mantra
Great knives, I have both. Today the Domino is in my pocket. Different beasts though. The Mantra disappears in your pocket and is much slimmer and lighter. The Domino is more noticeable in your pocket and has a wider blade when cutting which can be good or bad depending on what your doing. The Domin...

Re: Spyderco Flipper with Compression Lock? Anything upcoming?
To the OP, apparently there's a Mantra 3 in the works that will be a compression lock flipper. I know I asked but gees mate, I think I just gizzed in my pants a little reading that line. I love my Mantra already. Add compression lock, fantastic. If it's in a stainless steel, I'd have my ultimate hi...

Re: Sage 5 / Zome Now Available *PIC HEAVY*
Thanks the the pic's. The CF finish looks great. I've always been going to buy a Sage 5 as I love my Sage 1 and also my PM2. Matter of fact I already have a black Sage 1 clip sitting in my draw ready for the Sage 5. One benefit I can imagine with the eventual PM3 will be the inclusion of some super ...

Spyderco Flipper with Compression Lock? Anything upcoming?
I've been flipping away on my Domino today watching TV.... And like all knives like this with a flipper tab I find it a little uncomfortable with the frame/liner lock folders how the tab rotates around onto your thumb as you unlock. Seems utilising the compression lock on a flipper would be a real w...

Bah ditto, I do the same first move.Bloke wrote:Usually the first cut of the day is the top off a sachet of oats
My main use is packaging and breaking down boxes at work if I get deliveries. And fruit slicing at lunchtime.
At home I'll slice up anything I can get my mitts on

This is the place to look. It's not stainless and will rust. But edge retention is REALLY good.

Re: Mantra or Mantra 2?
I'm a Mantra 1 fan. I like how it slices as that's my main use for an EDC. When I'm just playing with the knife, I'll flick it with the flipper. But in actual use I find I almost always use my thumb to open gently. So the spydie hole is a plus. I don't find it carries wide in pocket as the blade por...
