Re: Sal's Casual Bombshell Thread

Hi Landon, I'm carrying a P4 FRN, K390, plain edge. The handle is made from the molds. sal Which thread was this quoted from? Since Connor (Meat Man) already posted the link, I'll just add a helpful tip for the future. The little up arrow next to a quoted person's name is a handy hyperlink to where...

Re: Ideas for "sprint runs", NOT concerning steel (let´s dream...)

Really want:
2.5" CBBL Micro Manix
3" CBBL Mini Manix (CBBL Native?)
Linerless G-10 Manix 2
Linerless G-10 Dragonfly

Interesting idea I just had:
Compression lock Caly

EDIT: at least the 3" CBBL and linerless Manix 2 should be regular production as well as having sprint varieties.

Re: New knife, uneven grind

You're not the only one to care about uneven grinds. All 5 PM2s and 3 Militaries I've had (all produced after 2016; idk if that matters) had a nice and even edge grind on the show side, but on the clip side from the tip to the belly, there is a section of over-ground, and therefore wider, edge bevel...

Re: BladeHQ Exclusive Native 5 Linerless Natural G10 DLC CPM-M4

Thankfully, size wise it's too similar to the Para 3...no sense in having both. My bank account appreciates this realization! *pats self on the back* This is the reason I kinda wish I had gotten one of the DLC M4 Para 3s. Also, I just saw the $165 price tag of this Native, and my need for it has me...

Re: What is tougher?

What is the mechanism to measure toughness, do they put a slab of steel in a vice and bend it? Is it scientific, or just user experience? Charpy tests are close to that. They use a pendulum to measure how much force is absorbed before fracture. V-notch specimines break a little differently than unn...

Cruwear and micarta will finally push me over the edge into Shaman ownership. CF and S90V would be too rich for my blood.

I thought that while we wait for the 5, I should share a pic of my most recent acquisition:

Re: What is tougher?

I've also been very curious about toughness, wear resistance, strength, and corrosion resistance differences between K390 and Rex 45. I've not found solid answers because no head-to-head comparisons have been done. Here's a visual aid: https://i.imgur.com/u9ybGHC.png FYI, the legend does not obscure...

Re: Which Spydercos saw the most use in January?

Rex 45 Military and 154CM Manix LW were my primary folders, but I need to cut very little these days.

I used the B70P mule at home as often as I had occasion to.

Re: What Spyderco is in your pocket today??

Thanks! Hahahahaha Nice knife you have too!!! 33°C sounds nice, if it's low humidity. Our fire is cuz it might have gotten to a brisk 33°F here today. Sounds nice if you’re freezing I s’pose but the UV index is extreme today sitting at 13.5, so it’s brutal. Humidity is OK at 54% and we’re expecting...

Re: 3V edge retention stainless equal???

The only 3v I’ve tried was in a cold steel Master Hunter. I kind of felt like the edge retention was a notch below s30v but I really enjoyed the way the steel sharpened and the aggressive edge it took and I always appreciate high toughness. That knife kind of reminded me of an ever so slightly soft...
