Re: Please recommend a decent little flashlight

Olight has another sale on that runs through Monday (12/17/18). Thanks to this I have on the way the "Winter" version of the four seasons Ti limited run S1R ii Baton lights they released. I wanted a matte finished raw Ti light to match all my matte gray bead blast Ti framelocks / RILs from Spyderco...

I just got notice from KC that my Dragonfly Vtoku-2 has shipped and a notice from BladeOps that my Embassy is on the way.

One of my favorite blade shapes ever. I need one.
It does look like a great shape. I never really looked too hard at the Embassy. I'll be looking at it real close when I receive my order. :D

Re: Embassy in stock?!?

I take this is a present to yourself?? Haha Aren't they all? Excluding the knives I've bought for my son most of them are for my own consumption. I couldn't carry autos when I lived in IL. So this will be kind of cool for me to have. With all the great opening methods we have I don't really have a ...

Looks kind of chunky, reminds me of a lot of Kershaws. Autonomy 2 please!
I've been considering the Autonomy 2 but at 5.5 oz it's a bit of tank. I like the weight (3.6 oz), blade length (3.125"), and handle shape of the Embassy. It's a little pricey but..."I'm worth it". Haha

Re: 2018 Alistair Phillips!

My girl asked me to help her prepare dinner tonight. So out came the Kapara! We diced a some potatoes, chopped up a couple jalapenos, and cut up a roast chicken. The Kapara performed very nicely. :)

Too hard to choose. :)
^Yep! I can't name a Spyderco that I hold above all others because that changes daily. If I had to name one that's rising to the top I'd say the Sliverax. Otherwise there's a whole bunch of different models that I enjoy owning and using.

Re: V-Toku2 DF2 is Dropping!!

Looks like BHQ has the V-Toku2 Dragonfly! :) https://www.bladehq.com/item--Spyderco-Dragonfly-2-Sprint-Run--78693 I looked about an hour ago and it said out of stock. Looks like it still does. Regardless, someone over on BF said their pre-order was shipping tomorrow. Sounds like the V-Toku 2 DFs ar...

Now my biggest decision is serrated or plain. I was kinda hoping that there would a combo edge variant, but I'm not sure if it's possible with LC200N.
It's definitely possible. The Never Summer Native had a CE LC200N blade.

I can't stand the clip wobble on the steel liner Spydies.
Clip wobble? I haven't experienced that on any of mine before...and I have a few.

Re: Para 2 Factory 2nd With Blade Play When Closed

It sounds like there's slop in the detent. No easy way to correct that I know of. If it were me I'd probably just use it as is. Detent slop would bug me on a knife I paid full price for but I think I could live with it if I knew it was a second and I paid a reasonable price for it.

Re: Why Don't You Like Framelocks?

Has anyone had a knife open in their pocket when it was the only thing carried in that pocket? Not once. The only time I had a knife open on me unexpectedly was when I was carrying a comp lock flipper (Sliverax) IWB @ 4:00. I'm in and out of my office a lot at work and I'm pretty sure my pants push...

Re: What Spyderco is in your pocket today??

The newly-arrived Native Max. I waited too long to get one, but now that I did, at least I've got a killer steel! Despite the blade's hardness, it only took a few minutes to put a finely-honed micro bevel on it, thanks to the excellent factory edge. Now it's screaming sharp and ready for many weeks...

From Sal on Bladeforums. "The Mules were a fun project. I've come up with an number of unusual projects over the years, but most will have a life. Sprints are still going, but they are a bit different in that they are all disco'd models. The Sage project is still going and we have 2 different locks...
