Re: custom base for sharpmaker

I don't want fixed angles, I want a fully adjustable base that can hold the rods at any angle. That makes more sense to me too. Check out the first link in my post above. I don't think that's designed to be adjustable but I bet it could be. I was thinking that it might be easier to make two adapter...

Re: custom base for sharpmaker

I haven't found a patent on the Sharpmaker but check this out... https://patents.google.com/patent/US8951098B2/en?assignee=Spyderco&oq=Spyderco&page=3 If you download the PDF file in the link you can see the line drawing much more clearly. EDIT: There's no patent number on the base of the current 20...

Re: I Have a Hankering for a G10 Scales Native 5

Funny, I’m hankering one without liners. Yea... I think I might be in the minority with my preference for liners. It’s not a strength thing but a heft thing with me. I'm interested in the linerless G10 models but I'm in no hurry to get one. I have a few LW/FRN models as well as a linerless fluted C...

Re: I Have a Hankering for a G10 Scales Native 5

I carried this one at work the other day. I planned on reprofiling the edge today but ran out of time. I'm thinking about ordering some new scales for it.

Re: I never want to hear about "chippy" steel ever again

Not sure why the need to cut the cardboard at all? Just slice the tape at the join like everyone else does. My keys do this job. Have you considered that your needs might be different than others? I work for a cabinet company. The cabinet components all come packed in thick cardboard boxes. My guys...

Anyone know if the native salt blade will fit the pink native scales?
I don't know for sure but I don't see why they wouldn't. It wouldn't make sense for Spyderco to make different moulds just for the Native 5 Salt.

This subject came up a couple years ago after Spyderco first started grinding the shelf on the Para 3s. Additional discussion can be found in the thread linked below.

Re: Which Spyderco Haunts You Most?

I'd like to have some of the Kopas but the pricing on the secondary market keeps me away.

Otherwise, I have most of the current models that I like. I'm considering getting a Paysan when they're released but still not sure if I'll actually buy it.

When I clean mine I just clean them with Bar Keeper's Friend and hot water, wipe them off with a paper towel, and maybe let them air dry for a few minutes.

Re: Why is having the blade drop closed such a big deal?

It's not a big deal but I do find it easier to close the blade one-handed. I don't think it's absolutely necessary, since I can close my lock backs one-handed, but I do find it more convenient.

Re: BladeHQ Exclusive Native 5 Linerless Natural G10 DLC CPM-M4

By far, the best looking Native I've ever seen. Definitely pocket jewelry! I wouldn't even cut a sheet of paper with that baby! With the M4/DLC blade I don't see why you wouldn't want to use it. I've been thinking about getting the fluted cf S90V Native so I can enjoy the scales and not worry about...
