Has anyone noticed the difference in the way the plunge line is ground between this run and the grey G10? Here's a comparison shot. Smooth G10 model is mine. This is exactly my experience as well. I always try out PM2's, Militaries, etc. because they are more fun to flick and have exotic steels, but when it comes to actually using the knife for my daily tasks nothing can beat the Delica. How can I choose a $60 knife over knives 2 to 3 times as expensive?...

Both of mine had this too, but much larger areas. It went away after handling them for a few minutes. It’s like the G10 was dried out or something and skin oil made it return to black.
