Dyed scales... Meh...

Super awesome that Spyderco is putting this in folders. Hope this stays as a production run like the S110V ones.

I think you mean Blue #1 and Blue #2? I think the White steels are just carbon and maybe some impurities.

Re: Knifeworks M4 PM2!

Mine arrived a few days ago, close to perfect, though not quite as free swinging as the BHQ version. http://i.imgur.com/pknEtDZ.jpg Reprofiled the edge bevel to ~7-9 dps using a Norton Crystolon coarse and then polished it using a Sigma Power Select II 240x and 1000x. Microbevelled at ~15 dps using...

A cleaver in 3V would be fun!

Pretty interesting that M390 only has 0.6%.

Re: Knifeworks M4 PM2!

Well... Got mine delivered five minutes ago. Slammed by customs - nearly $50. Total comes to about $375 CAD. Not sure if it's still worth it at that point. Guess it only hurts once. Blade came with specks of what I assume to be oil. Small chip in the CF just beside the lanyard hole on one side. Grin...

Re: Knifeworks M4 PM2!

Mine was stuck in customs for a few days. Just got released. Should be here tomorrow. Hopefully I don't get slammed with import fees and the knife doesn't have any problems... Would be a shame.

I think with the UF rods (+ strop?) should do it.

Re: Importing kershaw 1900 into canada

Sorry if I'm wrong, but I'm not sure if this is the right place to ask this kind of question. Maybe BF would be better. AFAIK Butterflies, autos, and anything else that can be opened by gravity > not allowed. Carrying > fine as long as it is considered to be a tool and not a weapon. Don't quote me o...

Re: Clear handle scale discussion

Clear/translucent isn't everyone's cup of tea. I respect the Deacon's opinion on the subject, and I'm sure that the traditionalists will pass on any clear/translucent or candy-colored scales. Since the mold is already made, though, I would think Spyderco could diversify their offerings with some co...

Re: Leather strop....

I think that if you're using compounds, then the type of leather isn't too important as what is being used to strop the blade is the compound itself, but if you're using bare leather, then something like latigo would be good.

Used but the description claims it was never used or carried. Basically new.

Either way, the prices one the secondary market for these are pretty ridiculous.

Re: Knifeworks M4 PM2!

Somehow the less rust resistant M4 variant gives me pause. I'm only now going thru the paces with M2 on my relatively new GB2. So far so good, but still not enough pocket time to know. Worried me too initially. Paused for about a minute, then hit order :D I think with a bit of oil it shouldn't be t...

Re: How about a Mantra 3?

I think that if Spyderco chooses to use a compression lock, then they won't use titanium for the scales. Or it's only on one side. Inconsistent with the rest of the series. Would be cool if they could do a RIL Compression though.

Re: Knifeworks M4 PM2!

S90V/154CM selling for $800 lmao

That was a complete other beast though...

Would have been nice if Spyderco used different steels for the two runs instead of releasing two M4 runs in the same platform within weeks. Not complaining, but it would have been fantastic if the CF one was in M390 :D

Re: Knifeworks M4 PM2!

Looks like they're not splitting this into batches anymore. From their website: A email from Spyderco tell us that whey will ship 1000 pieces out on Thursday 08/04/2016 with shipping time we should receive these on Tuesday 9th or Wednesday 10th. So as of now all orders will be filled and shipped nex...
