Re: Tanto blades

They've done it twice already but people grumbled a lot about the last one. It's a hard sell to put a run out that no one likes. I am not aware of the full details, but I recall there were technical issues with one of the sprint runs (blade wrapping?), in what case it is hard to wander that the cus...

Re: New(ish) Delica is covered in surface rust

It is also possible that the rust you see is from surface contamination from the grinder. If they ground a non-stainless blade before grinding your stainless blade, particles of the non-stainless steel can be transferred from the grinding belt or wheel and lodge in the surface scratches on the stai...

Re: Tanto blades

I am not too crazy about tanto PM2 for some reason, but a Lum Tanto sprint re-run would be awesome. Not sure whether it would be possible though. Re: New(ish) Delica is covered in surface rust

So the last knife I sent from Canada 9to Golden for a look left mid December and the new one was here at the start of Feb so you could probably ship it from here but you won't get it back in a week and I don't know if they ship to a different address than something was sent from. Why not just oil it...

Smart points! I'm looking for a new 15V folder this weekend. What good companies would you suggest?
Don’t be a troll. Fancy steel is a massive upsell.
So I guess that's a no,,,,,,,

Re: Upping the price.

This is a cool forum but it is a little bit of an echo chamber. Spyderco is nowhere near as influential as it was 10 or 15 years ago. When the Manix 2 dropped it was all people could talk about. I think the price points have a lot to do with it. It’s a huge knife world out there. $100 goes a very l...

Re: Upping the price.

But inflation is your fault. Wanting things drives demand. Demand lowers inventory. Low inventory drives higher prices.

Re: Love of the Nub

I do not know the official term for them but I love the small guard that Spyderco puts on their finger choils. I have seen people call them the nub, or a protrusion but I do not know what they are referred to as by professionals in the knife making world. I love those little finger guards. They are...

Most knives you flick along the X axis. On a Swayback if you flick along the Y axis it will pop open like any other.
