All three in the same day. Funny thing is that the pm3 and the stretch 2 XL were posted 11 days apart from dlt and knifejoker.

Same here. I'm already 5 knives in for November and now the seconds sale and on top of that DLT Trading is starting their 12 days of Christmas with really good deals. For this year Christmas is already cancelled.

Re: MULE TEAM™ Future Predictions
Not really sure, but I think PM-V11 may be proprietary steel. As far as I can see it is only found in Lee Valley tools. Mostly Veritas plane irons and chisels. Quick Google search didn't find the steel composition or who is producing it. I could be wrong though.

Re: 2023 Seconds sale! ..are you going?
Have it in mind that ebay and other platforms are the only way for most people to get their hands on factory seconds. The only issue I see is the scammers trying to mask it as original brand new product.

Re: Elastic Ceramic. Wow!
Let's see if there would be a limit of how many one can buy. If the limit is 5 or none they'll fly off the shelf quickly. Personally I hope for a limit of 2. Later on if they're still in stock they can remove the limit. One for testing and abusing and the other for backup. Large quantities can help ...

Re: Reveal 14 teaser from September's byte
While not the reveal, there was another hint. This time about an upcoming tool steel. From the SpyderByte: As for the other 16 high-performance steels on Dr. Thomas’ chart, Spyderco has produced or is currently producing knives featuring 13 of them. Soon, that number will be increased to 14. Could ...

Re: Spyderco x Lamnia exclusive - poll
I believe that Lamnia should have their say of what model they move the most. Ukpk and urban are the most likely candidates. There are far too many countries in Europe with restrictions so that pretty much concretes the choice. No point of having exclusive that can't sell well because of restriction...

Re: MULE TEAM™ Future Predictions
We already got SRS-13. But the thing about the Japanese steel is that a good lot of it is proprietary. And doesn't matter what you do you can't get it. That was the situation with SRS-15 as far as I remember.

Re: MT36P – K294 MICROCLEAN Mule Team Dropping Soon!
I'm on it. K294 is the European equivalent of CPM 10V. that's what I read somewhere else, so that begs the question, what's the motivation for making it a mule? Not enough 10V is my best guess. It's most likely the availability at the time frame in the production plants. The pipeline is very busy a...

Re: Best Edge Performance Steel between these choices?
Rex 45 for me. Somehow I feel it like cruwear on steroids. Takes insane edge easily. I somehow find it a bit easier to touch up than K390. Kind of reminds me of a pure carbon steel for some reason. Maxamet obviously have superior edge holding but I wouldn't push it like the other three steels. I fin...

Re: MT36P – K294 MICROCLEAN Mule Team Dropping Soon!
Because the steel K294 is German made. From Germany it travels to Japan where this particular mule is being done. And from Japan the mules travel to SFO in Golden. You can imagine all this adds to the final price. With that being said I stand behind my words that all the mules are pretty well priced...

Re: MULE TEAM™ Future Predictions
As far as I know, Sal mentioned they're working on the ceramic mule. Is it going to go in production - we don't know. Spyderco tries their best to hold a high standard and if they can't dial the ceramic it might get scrapped in the last moment. We'll have to wait for the next reveal to find out what...

Re: Would you want a Damascus Mule?
The only damascus steel that will fit in the spirit of the mule program is Damacore DC18N. Consists of a damascus made of RWL34 and PMC27 (Those two are used for the beautiful Björkmans twist DS93X used on the Spyderco Urban) They wrap around a core made from N11X steel (exactly the same composition...

Re: CPM REX T15 or Böhler-Uddeholm’s K294?
If that is of any help K294 is literally the same composition as CPM 10V. Only difference i can think of is K294 is being made by Bohler's 3rd generation particle metallurgy but i'm not sure about the production of Crucible's PM process and generation. There's a chance K294 is more fine grained than...

Re: The DAMAUKPK Project: Damasteel UK Penknife UKPK
Hunting down the HH 4 pin UKPK is a real adventure. I got my first one from a forumitee in the EM forum. If the UKPK Damasteel comes to reality I might end up buying two. The same way with the Damasteel Urban. Unfortunately I'll have to hunt them down from the US again because in mainland Europe and...

Re: Spyderco Seconds Sale Scores
The manix XL was my first ever spyderco. That model will always have a special place in my heart. On the practical note, I haven't found other spyderco with more secure grip than manix XL. Even with wet, dirty, greasy safety gloves once you get a grip it's not going anywhere. It's a bit on the thick...
