Re: Magnacut Mule Box Date Codes: KU & LU

If I recall from another discussion, it's a month/year code. K=11. So it may be that the LU one was finally finished in December. Remember, there aren't 1000 being run in parallel for all production steps, so there are bound to be some that spill over into another month. For the AU code on the s45v...

Re: Omicron..and on..and on…

Here's my take, for what it's worth. I'm 76, unvaxed an unafraid. Three factors entered into that decision. First and foremost, I feel my lifestyle is sufficient protection against the ***** as it has been against other infections for the past 10 years. I'm retired, live alone, don't socialize, and ...

Re: KRATOM: Anyone Else Aware of This Great Remedy?

I'd be a lot more tempted to try Kratom if it was sold in drug stores. As things stand, at least here in upstate SC, the only places that seem to carry it are vape shops and gas stations.

Re: G10 Inlay In Choil To Circumvent Blade Length Limitations

I am not a lawyer, but I worked with enough of them to think that, if it's part of the blade, the material does not matter, it will be counted. New scales that extended further forward ahead of the pivot might not.

Re: Lanyard Hole In Spyderco Models: Important Or Not?

On larger knives, having a lanyard hole is not important to me. In fact, I normally ask anyone making custom scales for me to omit it. That said, it's not something that would ever stop me from buying and using a knife I otherwise liked. Key ring knives are the exception, as they need either a lanya...

Re: My 90's era mini knife needs help

No guarantee it will help but, since the front end of the lockbar sees to be sitting a bit above the handle, there's at least a chance a good cleaning of the lock notch in the blade might resolve the lockup issue. That's easiest to do with the knife closed. If that doesn't help, then SG89's suggesti...

Re: Non Spyderco sharpening question.

Personally, if given the choice between a small section of dull edge in front of the ricasso and a sharpening choil that can cause material being cut to snag, I'll take the former every day.

Re: 9V should be knife steel. Change my mind.

Can't answer that, but perhaps whoever is claiming that 9V offers "superior edge retention" at a relatively low hardness is not someone who most steel junkies know and respect.

Thinking it may have already left our country and be in yours. I'd suggest checking the French postal service's website, using the US tracking number.

Re: Starburst scales

Does anyone know where I can get red white and blue starburst scales for my PM2? I've seen them on the knives on ebay but can't find just the scales. Thanks Looked at the eBay listings for those scales and they appear to be made by the seller listing them. If you haven't done so already, you might ...

Re: The Last Gun You Bought

Don’t know if anybody has seen that Savage has come out with a 9mm pistol . Saw an ad for it. Neat looking little gun, but capacity seems a bit low compared to some of the other micro-compact 9mm's being offered these days due to being a single stack design. However I'm sure the slimmer profile and...

Re: Which new tool did you buy or use today?

Unless you count cordless hole punches, ;) my newest tool is this cabinet hardware jig that I purchased about a month ago to end 10+ years of procrastination. When I purchased my house, the cabinet doors and drawers had no handles on them. Builder claimed that was what was in style. Bought handles, ...

My "dream Spyderco" would be a Stretch variant that I'll call the Stretch 3. Handle would have the same physical dimensions as the original stainless with Kraton inlays version, but would have smooth bolsters and wood scales like the knife below. Blade would have the shape of the straight ...
