Re: Upcoming P.I.T.S. 2

I’m very satisfied with the Spits m390 so have passed on the opportunity to acquire an Alien on a couple of times, now.

The general consensus is that it’s a slightly lighter action than the Pits, smaller and more pocketable, but that has been people comparing it to the non Spyderco version.

Re: Dragonfly vs. Lil' Native

The Dragonfly is a beefed up Manbug, whereas the Lil Native is a shrunk Native ….

… so an enlarged lightweight keychain knife vs a miniature field knife.

A little less than that at Edgar Bros, the UK importer, and in stock.

As an aside, this is by far the best folder I’ve ever used for food prep.

Re: Catcherman LC200N Sprint Run

Mine arrived today. I’ve been after a Catcherman for a long while, and I’m delighted. I’m no fisherman, but I live near the sea and do buy and prepare fresh fish, and it feels like it should be a great general food prep knife, too.

Now I’m just waiting for the Spyderco oyster knife :rofl

JD said full SE …

My Catcherman only arrived today, so will see how it goes in CE before commenting further. Very impressed out of the box, though.

Re: Review: Murray Carter Minarai Petty

Good review. Thank you for sharing.

Most of my kitchen knives appear to be ffg, apart from a single sided Global deba, and I’ve not noticed a problem to date with food binding. I’m certainly not a chef or expert on kitchen knives, but aren’t most kitchen knives ffg? Asking for a friend, ahem…

Re: The Days of the Milkman May Be Numbered!

Milk in paper cartons is better. However, I buy Fernleaf powdered milk. It tastes just like bottled milk and dissolves in cold water. It is a New Zealand product. I understand that the same brand in the UK isn't nearly as good because UK laws mandate using only UK cow milk. The NZ cow milk is much ...

Re: Catcherman LC200N Sprint Run

I was sooooo sad!!! I have wanted this knife FOREVER, but this was discontinued before my time here. When I saw the announcement several months ago I was overjoyed. But….I did what I always do and procrastinated until the last minute. By the time I acted they were all gone. Then I found one! Haha. ...

So you’re basically wanting a DLC version of the Heinnie Haynes exclusives?
The 4v is the draw for me.
Likewise. I have also come to the conclusion that I slightly prefer the frn.

Fantastic thread. Craftsmanship, science and innovation in one. Add to that the redemption of an old villain (s60v, not Sal) and it’s a real treat.

I didn’t enjoy sharpening the s60v in my Starmate one little bit. It would be very interesting to see what effect an updated HT would have.

Re: Native Scout?

I think a mid sized Native is a fantastic idea.

With (or without, actually) a sabre or scandi grind it would be an excellent bushcraft or all-purpose field knife.
