I like titanium scales, I think the Slyz bowie, mantra, techno, and advocate show the appeal. More and more I like metal because of the ease on pockets and I like the look. Sal had commented at one point that aluminum didn't sell really well. I was interested in anodized handles.

I came across this video- not really recent but they guy is making great use of a Moran trailing point. If you are sensitive to dead stuff don't watch it.

The addiction started with a dragonfly clip-it version vg-10 steel. I made the mistake of asking what the best pocket knife was.

I usually keep mine in a drawer at home. Strangely I find I use my fixed blades more often - especially my Southfork. However, its really awkward to belt carry that knife.

The best advice I have received has been:
1) There is no way to get rich quick
2) You need to spend money to make money. I've invested in some larger funds that have done well. You need to last through several market cycles.
3) Don't get greedy, don't get scared, be in it for the long haul

I'd go with the Moran, nice stock thickness. My understanding is Moran wanted a high end steel to make it really perform

I like Olight, the S1R Baton or the m2t. I have one of their keychain lights and l1reos that have connected to a SAK and is always on me. There are a lot of good deals and Olight has had some fantastic sales on.

I'm waiting to see what the steel is. If something pops up and its A11 or K390 around 3 inches I will grab it. That might lead me to sell my K390 Urban but who knows.

I've done a lot of camping in the woods. Every time we set up camp we make it rule to look around to see what "widow makers" are around. Its not uncommon to have them come down in light winds. There are a great deal of rotted trees in the forest, its just part of the ecosystem.
