Re: The Endela is fantastic.

It's here! I'm super impressed with the Endela! Great size, very comparable to the SSS, although maybe a touch less hand filling. Already got some patina going after cutting up some cheese and an apple for lunch. :) Definitely a keeper. https://i.imgur.com/xzbNVHc.jpg This picture is making it much...

Re: K390 SS Stretch 2

I see...but then the Manix and PM2 handles must offer a bit too little space for you too, right? (The Stretch 1 actually offers a tad MORE than both Manix an PM2) It's really more a matter of shape than length. The tail hook on the stretch 2 Stretch 1 and the little tail nub on the Manix both strik...

Re: K390 SS Stretch 2

I get a better hand fit with the Stretch 2 (not quite enough pinky room with the #1), but my current Stretch 2 is the G-10 version, so I'm expecting a little more comfortable grip with the FRN version, and hopefully a slightly weaker spring ;) I'll report back how it compares to both when it comes,...

Re: K390 SS Stretch 2

I've had this one on pre-order since it was first announced. Can't wait to compare it to the Endela . May have to get a 2nd for addon micarta scales. And I can´t wait for your comparison... ;) Both great models, and very different in many aspects... I prefer the Stretch 1 over the Stretch 2, so for...

Re: The Endela is fantastic.

I thought about modifying the FRN a bit to knock down that point, but concluded I'd rather use the funds on the Endela rather than modify the P4. At this point in my "knife career", I can pretty much tell right away if I won't end up liking a knife enough to carry it regularly. In those c...

Re: The Endela is fantastic.

As a long time Manix fan, I've been auguring for a knife that size in the Seki series for years. But I held out for the K390 to get one, since it's one of my favorite steels. And I couldn't resist getting the K390 Endura as well, since it's a great size for slicing vegetables and I like the patina c...

Re: Whats the longest you've ever gone without using a particular knife?

Manixes have been my favorites since I discovered them, but they've taken a backseat to Seki City since the K390 series came out. I've developed a new callus on the side of my thumb from the backlocks. So far I have a couple of the K390 Endelas, an Endura, and have preordered the Straight Spine Stre...

Re: Endela K390 in Blue

My K390 Endela from KC was stuck at Richmond for 8 days but finally go here on the 14th. I have waited a long time for this one to ship and really love it -- It's the Goldilocks size for me too! I'm fighting the urge to buy a backup. Thanks, Sal & Co. Now if we could only get a K390 Straight Spi...

Re: What do you think of metal handles?

Normally I try to be very logical and scientific, but when it comes to knives, I don't have any overall rules that are deal breakers. It depends on the overall "aura" or (worse yet) "soul" of the individual knife. It's sort of like choosing a girlfriend or boyfriend. If you met y...

Re: 2020 Seconds Sale - BREAKING NEWS

This sounds exciting to me, especially if we get to suggest possible "if available" models. It would be a 2600 mile round trip for me, not a good way for an older guy to spend a pandemic. About the ebay problem, since ebay supposedly guarantees that you can get a refund if you didn't get w...

Re: Predictions for Straight Spine Stretch

I was hoping for the SSS to eventually be included in the K390 sprint run. Has there been any mention of that? (Right now I've got the K390 Endela on pre-order and it could use some company.)

Re: Seconds Sale 2020

Well, as long as we're free associating, they could just put out say 3 or 4 boxes of knives, a wide assortment of types, every day for two weeks or until they sell as many as they need to, and let people send in their names and preferred dates to come. People who had flexible schedules could let Spy...

Re: TeroTuf!

Yes. You can buy it in single scale size, or in (roughly 8.5 x 11) sheets. (example of source for single scale size: https://usaknifemaker.com/terotuf-od-green-1-4-knife-handle-material.html) I'mr really digging the blue demin TeroTuf I have. I might try to pair it with a light colored wood. I real...

Re: TeroTuf!

I spent the past week making scales for various knives (because apparently that's what I do on vacation). I have two sheets of Terotuf, so I'll probably do Terotuf for the Spy27 Mule when it comes out, assuming I can get my hands on one (or more). I hope you'll post pics when you get some made. Can...

TEROTUF MANIX 2 XL SCALES IN THE WORKS !!

Followup: I like the crosshatch ones fine. They are pretty grippy, but it turns out that it was more the sandpaper-like feel of G-10 and peel-ply CF that I was getting a little tired of, not the grippiness itself. The crosshatch TeroTuf gets a little smoother with use, and of course, you could give ...

I realize that is probably in poor taste, but I am getting frustrated, and I need to laugh.
I think i will look for that Golden Ticket.
Assuming you're in Cal., it sure looks terrible out there -- the rest of the country is watching and hoping it'll be over quickly.

Move the sale up to before it gets cold and have it outside that's the only way I see it being very safe
And it wouldn't hurt to bring a few pairs of those blue disposable 5 mil nitrile gloves from Harbor Freight to make it safer for everybody to handle the knives, and of course a face mask.

Re: Seconds Sale 2020

Not meaning to be a spoilsport, but I think the main idea of the seconds sale is to move umpteen jillion knives quickly and easily with as little expenditure of overhead as possible, thus allowing the prices to be as low as possible. Just thinking that the shipping and handling would be a pretty big...

It might be worth asking Kristi about whether or not an exception could be made for the Crucible logo. It would seem a bit ...
