Re: Benchmade Water Series (salt series?)

Looks like Benchmade came out with a water series using magnacut. Im sure its trying to compete with the salt series from Spyderco. Realistically this should probably be expected from a few manufacturers now that magnacut is out there. Especially Benchmade since they have also done several water kn...

Re: 52100 Native Chief?

Not trying to yuck anybody's yum, but 52100 rusts way too fast for my liking. As already mentioned, you can force a patina with ease. But I will say that it sharpens like a dream. Total agreement with this guy^^. 52100 does not “might” patina, I will patina from your skin oil touching it. It does s...

Re: Dragonfly vs. Lil' Native

Dragonfly is the better knife. Anyone who says it’s a light cutter doesn’t have an H1 (or H2) SE Dfly. It’s not a Medford or Strider but is as robust as a 2 inch locking folder should be. The Wharncliffe isn’t beveled in top and is robust too

Re: Chaparral

I really like my Chap since I got custom (a bit thicker than the original ones) carbon fiber handles for the FRN model. But I don't understand what the 'laser beam edge' is supposed the mean. The Thickness BTE is very comparable to most other EDC-oriented Spydercos. Yes, as far as I can tell with m...

Re: Lil' Temp 3 & Short Thick Blades

I hope they bring the original lil temperance leaf back for a sprint made golden, Colorado. really one of the best knives in the company’s history. A little bit more MBC focused than the current 3rd gen.. -pointier and more distal tapered leaf -old school hardware, rounded pivot pin, one of the coo...

Re: Is there a quintessential Spyderco?

Dragonfly.

It has so many elevated features like a choil, wire clip. Legal most everywhere and the definition of Little Big Knife. I don’t care what brand someone is a Homer for, when you hold and use a Dfly you can see a place in your EDC immediately

Hi Wrdwrght, Interesting observation. Yes, the market has spoketh, and we work for you. The Kopa, Sage and Chaparral series were all ideas of mine that I thought might have had longer term success. The Kopa series ran into problems with the maker not being confident to use all of the handle materia...

It is neutered by design and unless you need a knife to meet those legalities I would go with a Manbug or a Ladybug Hawkbill

Re: Got this email about the Emerson CQC - 7, Ernie smiled, and share his philosophy.

I like Emerson’s as about an $85 knife. If that’s what they cost I would own a few. I sold all the ones I had but like the Elvia a good bit

Don't have one. Little small for my preferences and the ergonomics don't work well for me.

My favorite Delica is the Kahr Arms variant.
Beat me to it. And I don’t have one at the moment sadly.

I've never been a Country music fan, but man back in the day when he'd show up on the Bob & Tom show I became a huge fan of his, the guy was hilarious, he would have them rolling! Yup, that how I found out about him too. :cheap-sunglasses In the fetal position with drool on my chin, I messed up...

Kinda bummed out that the new rex steel will again be in that burned Orange.
It makes spydies look like something that was put in a display in the sun for 20 years that nobody ever wanted to buy…
Respect your opinion but burnt orange is my favorite handle color ever.
