Re: Blankets: Best materials and best choices: What say you?

I love those old Army woolen blankets. I usually sew them between two sheets, put a few yarn tacks in them, and call it a quilt. It will really keep you warm.

Re: Top Chilli tips?

Basil and extra virgin olive oil is always good on fish, and adding garlic is a bonus. It is also good on potatoes.

Re: A linerless Ti Manix 2 (lots of pics)

Very nice, indeed. I wonder what such a knife would cost if Spyderco made this in Golden? Probably a lot more than I can afford.

Re: Hello, why do you guys like Spyderco?

I have owned a lot of other knives but when I first held a Delica and a Caly3 my hand was in love. These knives just have ergos that cannot be beaten by any knife company. Spyderco makes them fit and then makes the knife. I like one hand opening and I like back locks and caged ball locks, which Spyd...

Re: I never want to hear about "chippy" steel ever again

I have chipped several blades, small chips on the edge, and never complained because I was using the knife hard. I just sharpened them out and moved on. Think of them as micro serrations. HahaHa!

Re: Shoes: What are good brands and types to look for?

You never realize how poor a lot of countries are until you see something like this. What’s even sadder Doc, is no doubt there’d be others out there that don’t have two plastic bottles and a bit of old rag. It is true. We support an orphanage in Africa that someone I know runs. Even many adults do ...

...I am hoping to get the Police 4 before they go out of print and do more experimenting... Is this currently a concern? Did I miss an announcement? I also will likely get a Police 4 at some point, but I was in no rush due to it being regular production. If it's going away, I should get one sooner ...

Re: Coyote Urban update?

We are all excitedly waiting on this one. I was unaware that AEB-L has greater edge stability than 52100. I knew it had to be good in order to make a good razor blade steel with the very thin blades they are making nowadays. However, I would never have guessed it was better than 52100. My experience...

Re: Police K390...yea it's freaking awesome.

Amazing to see that blue patina. I have not cut any pork. I eat a lot of fruit and especially apples. Mine K390 Urban LW only has the barest tinge of gold. I am hoping to get the Police 4 before they go out of print and do more experimenting. K390 is one of my favorite steels, after using it so much...

Re: Why is having the blade drop closed such a big deal?

It's not. It is only those people who play with their knives that this is an issue. Personally, I do not care for it. If the lock fails, do I want the blade freely swinging?

Re: Coyote Urban/UKPK

The UKPK's that I have tried (long ago) were not to my liking because the springs were weak like the Squeak's are. I liked the drop point, but I did not care for how easy the knife was to collapse, especially if I were piercing something, like a pumpkin or a cardboard box. My fingers are precious to...

Ladies: How would you design a knife handle and what knife?

I would like to hear from the women and girls on the forum. If you were to design a knife handle to your liking: 1) What knife would you choose to carry (Dragonfly, Lil Native, Urban LW, Chaparral, etc.) for practical daily use? 2) How would you want the handle to look? Color choice? Bling? Jewel in...

Re: Top Chilli tips?

Cayenne and black pepper, onion, garlic, ground chuck or ground round, jalepeno pepper, tomatoes, tomato sauce (some like to use Rotel), cumin, chili powder, paprika, red beans (non-sweet) and/or black beans. Add a some Tennessee Pride Hot breakfast sausage and bacon for a kick.
