What's the status on these? Are these going thru normal dealer channels or is this SFO only? Who's got the lowdown? :) Are they gonna be scary priced?

Back years ago (2002ish), Smoky Mountain Knife Works used to follow the old clearance paradigm, where they'd put all the discontinued stuff up for sale on righteous deals. I snagged a Calypso Junior lightweight and a Navigator but I remember folks raving about picking up Ayoobs, Shabarias and other ...

Chris Reeve Knives: production numbers

For those interested in some inside-the-industry poop, Anne shared CRK's 08 production numbers. Very interesting.

Thanks for the pics. I've been thinking about entering the world of H1. Not that I've had any rust issues with VG-10 or anything, just wanting to see what all the hoo-ha is about. Sounds like the stuff takes a nice edge real easily but loses it rather quickly, at least that's what I've been able to ...

As a result of this thread, I went over to CS to see what all the hoo-ha was about. Don't really care much of a hoot about the rock salt (or ANY salt for that matter) but the super deal on the carbon fiber ZDP Caly III hit me like a ton of bricks. Yowza!! Couldn't (and still can't) believe it!! Shee...

A Lil'Temp with a standard, run-of-the-mill clip. The stoopid clip design was the ONLY thing wrong with the Lil Temp. I have a serrated and a plainedge. Both of them are shelved until someone (anyone) comes out with a decent clip. Cheers.

I'd buy one also. No question about it, the Dodo is/was Spyderco's premier little-big-knife. In my opinion, it put Eric on the map.

Interesting story on "accidentally" falling in love with the Dodo. I purchased a Dodo the week they came out but immediately put it away and continued carrying my Military. A few months went by and I headed out for a family vacation that would take us (among other places) to a metro area t...

I'm not a businessman and I didn't stay in a Holiday Inn last nite. However, I'm not bashful in saying that Spyderco has been dropping the ball for at least a decade with regards to their excellent relationship with Mashirio in Japan. What a waste! Spyderco/mashirio has produced some of the finest (...

I just surpassed the five year mark in October. My plan was to get a 2004 nickel (symbolic of five years and also the year of my quit) wrapped in that really fine copper wire, then made into a necklace. I've seen this done at craft shows. I just haven't been to one since my quit anniv, so the projec...

Large FRN Goddard. A real workhorse in my opinion. Love the combo edge. I carry my burgundy version daily. Only weak spot is the clip rotating out of the clip well. Even though the burgundy Goddard has the "improved" deeper well, it still twists out when hung on a door frame, etc. Other th...

Does anyone plan to carry and use this knife? I'd sure like to know if the handle will yellow with handling and show the grain of the micarta. I don't know if I can bring myself to get mine dirty. It is a beautiful knife and I'm glad to see the triumphant return of linerless micarta spydies. ;)

You must have a fast internet connection to be able to read KF.com. I had to quit going there after their last "remodeling" job. Takes forever for pages to load on a dialup connection. The main page is a bandwidth nightmare. I don't feel like I'm missing much however. Bladeforums and this ...

My Packers lost so I'm pretty bummed out. But I'm an NFC guy and still think of the AFC as the "young upstarts" so I guess I gotta pull for the Giants. But on the other hand it would be historic to see the Pats pull of the perfect season all the way thru the big game. Remember, the Red Sox...

Full zip front of course! Pullovers spend a lot of time tossed across the back of the chair. Zip front is much more convienent and wearable. I'm all for this. :)
