Re: 2023 - Did your preferences change or stay the same?
I have always liked large knives, because I have big hands. The only exception is carrying a sheath knife in my pocket, in which case I’d like a large (long) handle and a small blade. I suppose my all-time favorite would be the military model which to me is the iconic Spyderco knife. I suppose I ig...

Re: Food Grade Protectant for Tool Steels
Men of my fathers generation,WW2, all carried carbon steel pocket knives and they stained. Every man had one in his pocket, and if you talk to them, they can tell you stories about the Knife and the ones they lost and still miss. High carbon steel just seems to get sharper. Right now my favorite mod...

Re: 2024 Official Discontinued List
the endella warncliff K390 is the worlds most practical, usable knife. They are on sale at different online sellers for $100. I would buy another one as a back up but not financially feasible right now. I hope this means they are going to do more interesting exotic Knives in the future. I don’t buy...

Boy Scouts, at least when I was involved, were about God and country. China has an authoritarian one-party system, and not only discourages believe in God, but puts Christians in prison just for being Christians. Kind of incomparable.

I doubt they would make a fake knife of a knife already made in China, but who knows.

How can I set myself up to be notified of the next mule team release? I especially want the SPY27.

I would love a Military in SPY27. To me the Military is the iconic Spyderco knife, that and the Native.

I’m in.
I had one and remember it well.
Most knives I haven’t regretted selling. This one I did.
No Spyderco hole. No Spyderco logo. Serrated blade.

This is one of the old days are were better than the new days. I didn’t have to compete with a thousand other people to buy a knife. Grumpy old man.

No need to take apart.
Put dish soap in pivot.
Rinse with hot water while opening and closing blade.

Re: What makes S90V so special?
I bought a native in the turquoise lightweight handle and S 90 V. I reprofiled the blade to a smaller angle and it took me forever with diamond DMT stones. Then I went down the colors stones all the way to the most fine. Today I spent an hour carving on a hardwood stick and covered the porch with ca...

Re: Colors - Talkin' Story - Marketing
I like colors, the brighter the better! Black is boring. Collecting knives is a fun hobby. I don’t want them all to be black. Blah. Black knives are hard to find if you lose one. Colors are probably less threatening to most people. But I don’t care much what people think. I guess because I’m old. Re...

Re: Shipping of internal parts
I don't take mine apart. Dish soap and hot water have been all I've needed except for springs wearing out. Ive found a guy who can replace a lot of springs. I haven't had a broken spring on a spyderco yet. I had a Pin wear out on a Benchmade 42 and benchmade fixed it free and sharpened it, but they ...

Awesome. I have an old police second and the little necklace titanium. A guy at the Rocky Mountain Blade Collectors years ago had one of those and filled the Spyderco logo with gold.

This guy claim he bought the knives he’s selling directly from Spyderco.
I’m only wondering because I haven’t seen it offered anywhere else except on eBay.
