My black Delica has those same marks, but I didn't notice them until I read this post and checked. Interestingly, my Dragonfly Salt, which has jimping in that area, has no grooves like the Delica. Maybe knives with jimping have better finishes in that area?

It's a great knife, don't send it back.

I don't know why serrations are only cut on one side, but my Dragonfly Salt SE cuts fantastically, so I'm not complaining! :D
