Re: Uh oh nutnfancy spreading misinformation...

I don't have anything against anyone trying to set themselves up as experts. After all, a lot of members here do that after reading some metallurgy charts and messing around with lock stick. I just don't watch nutn's vids because I don't want to listen to hime for 10-15 minutes before he gets to th...

Re: Sal, hope to hear from you

Its no secret that more often than not spydercos on bearings are gritty with poor action. ^ I find that hard to believe! No question some have issues but I don't think the problem is as broad as you state. And its not anything to dismiss either, hence Sal looking further into it. I think it's bigge...

Re: Sal, hope to hear from you

Its no secret that more often than not spydercos on bearings are gritty with poor action. The word is out and i sincerely hope they do more than just look into it. The remedy is simple, just ditch the trendy bearings entirely and use pb washers. that solution would also bring cost down. No one has i...

Re: Gayle Bradley Advocate First Impressions?

I bought and sold mine already. Just like others have mentioned, spyderco keeps using bearings to stay competitive with other brands but they're not doing it right. Those paper thin silver washers are absolute junk and easily damaged. What happened to CQI? It's frustrating for a knife thats roughly ...

Re: Sage 5 Action Stiffness

Mine was/is also pretty tight but it doesn't sound like it's as tight as yours. I was able to free it up with a slight pivot adjustment but it still doesn't feel quite right. There's no blade play when locked up but there is a little side to side wiggle when the blade is free. It's not a free dropp...

Re: Sage 5 Action Stiffness

thanks and i'm sure they aren't all that way. the sage 5 is very close to perfect in all honesty. once they fix the tolerances on the detent, i'll be forking out more money for their knives (pun intended).

Re: Sage 5 Action Stiffness

When I purchased this knife I got a little bit ahead of myself and bought several and they all have the exact same result. very stiff, extremely difficult to find the sweet spot where it would be smooth and still lock up solid. I also noticed slop in the detent when closed on all of the four sage 5s...
