Under the microscope

Had some spare time at work this evening and threw my freshly sharpened Manix 2 under the microscope. I'd like to compare a factory-sharpened edge to get a good baseline of what laser-sharp looks like. My Elmax mule should be getting to UPS tomorrow so I'll have to look at that once it comes in. I u...

Now I've just got to resist the temptation to buy another and wait for the CF sprint.

Dodo performance?

After seeing the Dodo hysteria first-hand in the availability thread, I decided that I, too, needed a Dodo no matter what. I hadn't even known this knife existed before I stumbled on page 3 of people trying to locate these things in a panic. Now, I can't stop looking at this thing. Anyone on here ow...

This makes sense. Now I find myself using this as an excuse why not to buy another orange.

http://spydercollector.wordpress.com/2012/03/05/spyderco-prototype-2012-dodo-orange-g10-sprint-run/ Should be near the bottom. I can only dream of what it'll be like. I imagine smoother with a slightly grippier texture than the steel (although I haven't handled a Dodo yet). I wonder what type of ce...

Yesterday I checked them and they only had one remaining so they must've gotten a small shipment in. I just read an article about the orange Dodo on Spydercollector (dated 3/5/12) where Eric announced another sprint run after this one, CF handles and a ceramic ball. Not sure if it's news to you guys...

But it's got that super-useful seatbelt/rope cutter feature! Some say it's better than the thumbhole (harhar)

PM'd :)

I hate what this forum does to me. I was perfectly content with one Manix2 and now I've got two more knives on the way with more I'm thinking over.

Ok, now you've seen his pics. As I knew right from the get go, it's not a problem and it's no surprise. So who's your daddy? :p Where's the common sense these days? I feel like this issue was laid to rest by SMI's post that you quoted, and am not sure how this is helping the OP in any way: Whether ...

Looks like the Dodo is extremely popular around here. Looks like a top performer, I kind of want one now.

I've seen it advertised on Bentoboxshop for $199. A premium but I guess if people are wanting it bad enough, there's an option.

Cowboy, you are a brave man for doing that indoors and on a carpet no less. When I was working with FG/resin the smell stuck around in the garage for a week and I had laid it up and let it cure outside!

I know what your question was. I'm just saying that the concern of a speck or two doesn't affect function and that it's silly to obsess over such tiny things. Unless of course, your knives are just for looking, not for using. This knife could be just for looking, the OP never specified. Although I ...
