Kneedeep, all three rods in my box measured between .120" and .122". This was six measurements, two on each rod. Hope this helps out!

Not a problem, because I've definitely pulled that same move before. I should've ordered two only to be disappointed when my box comes in at half my expectations!

You say you got one strop and two compounds? You will need a seperate strop for each compound. Once the coarsest compound is used on a strop you can't change to a finer grit compound. The coarser stuff is still there working like a coarser strop. If you use the finer grit first on a strop you can g...

Alright, as xceptnl suggested, just got a large strop and the black and green compounds ordered from Robert at stropman.com. Not sure how long it'll take to get here but I hope it isn't too long! So far the Elmax Mule has lived in its box, the M4 Manix2 has been seeing some light duty opening boxes ...

I've got the caliper and Lansky rods at home right now. I can get you a measurement later this evening if Evil D's doesn't work, but I'm with him. From memory, Mine are slightly smaller than 1/8". The Lansky diamond stones are great, but I've had to reglue one stone since its adhesive failed. A...

I used to carry a Kershaw Leek in my RBP next to my wallet since it was about the same thickness as the wallet and was skinny enough to slip alongside. Now it's usually just an EDC in my front. Might change when I get a Delica/Dragonfly.

Delica, what's your preferred grind?

Hey guys, looking to add a ZDP Delica to my little collection. I've found two, the SC11PGRE (sabre grind, I think) and the C11PGRE (FFG). Wondered what grind you guys preferred, and what you found the advantages and disadvantages were. I've found some info but wanted to get the opinions of actual us...

There will be a fixed blade Izula and ESEE 4 in 440C released later this year as well.
Wish it would've at least been VG-10 or 154CM.

Anyone have broken blades?

Hey guys, After doing some microscope work on the edges of the blades and seeing a few threads about hardness, I was thinking about mounting and polishing a few samples of the steels used to make these blades. After this is done, I could get some pictures of the carbides and run some hardness tests....

Great pictures! Are you going to do any sharpening on the mule? I'd love to see a before and after with a mirror polish. Since I'm waiting on making handles until I can at least get back to a proper shop, I probably won't be doing any heavy cutting with it. Planning on ordering a strop (today actua...

That depends on what kind of steel your full metal jacket is made out of. Of course, a jacket made entirely of metal would be very cumbersome. :)

I'd love to see more Dodos! I'm adjusting to the exposed ball-bearing lock, but would like to see some different takes on that too (even though it's part of the heart and soul. Maybe something like the poly cage from the Manix?

Didn't know people argued that.

I was always amused by the thought of receiving your first Spyderco in a USPS/UPS box and not being able to open it for lack of a knife. Like locking your keys in the car.
