Re: HAP40 Delica and Endura

Didn't see any Putman scales for the Endura.....

Have an e-mail out to Spyderco...be nice to get the burnt orange but any bright color is good for me...or I may switch scales with another endura that lives in my morning hike backpack.

Got mine from The Cutlery Shoppe yesterday....very HAPpy....

But today my 8 month old lab decided the box with the knife inside wold make a great chew toy so he scarfed it off the dining room table where I had left it and chewed the box and the FRN pretty good...not so happy now.

Re: Best folder for skinning whitetail

I have carried a Delica and an Endura for the past few seasons. Endura goes in with my tag and the cleaning stuff...bags, rope, rubber gloves and Delica stays easily accessible.....Endura works great for the skinning/gutting/boning although the Delica would easily do the job as well. I like bright c...

Re: Official Spyderco Sprig Discussion Thread

I have been waiting for this knife, as have many of us. The blade length looks a little longer than what I had expected and I am hopeful the handle color will be different than the Southfork just to further distinguish between the two. (Personally like the orange pictured above.) Still, I am very ve...

Re: New fixed blade.....

Thanks all.... I do like smaller blades...had very simple plastic sheath made for the various mules and carry them in my field dressing kit...all the knife I need for my field dressing tasks on our smallish deer. I used my Bradley folder in the field three years ago...like M4 even for game and will ...

New fixed blade.....

I have a Southfork which I love...know I will also get the Bird and trout model when it comes out.... Use the Southfork for field dressing big game primarily....(release most fish I catch)....carry and use a Delica SB or ZDP for almost everything else in the field. Still I am thinking about another ...

Re: a-SALT-ed with color (rit dye on frn scales - pics!)

I agree..it is fine with soap and water but will wear off a bit with time.....I may also have some sun fade....still it is easy and lasts pretty darn well.

Nice work....

I have dyed all my Salts orange except my Pac Salt where I went red....Salts are easy for sure.

Re: H1 Steel Blade Scratch Question

I have generally taken a Scotchbrite pad to my H-1 after a time to give it a faux-stonewash and mask the tiny scratches...mine are fairly seriously neglected and have not seen any rust at all....

The yellow FRN Salt is super easy to dye...much easier than G-10 in my experience. I have several dragonfly's that I have dyed orange.....I had found a recipe on this site using a mixture of orange and red dye 2/3 orange and 1/3 red as I recall but a search would be wise. That turned out really nice...

Sal, I greatly admire Spyderco, you, and the forum BUT I have pretty much given up on the MT's. I look at the forum every day...actually twice a day but don't read every post and don't post much...I own maybe 20-30 Spyderco knives...they are the only knives I own. Thus compared to most here I am sma...
