Front left pocket is my Chinook. Front right is my newish BM 730CFHS. I like em both, as both have good designs made with high qc (in my dealings) followed by good customer service (of which i have had to use Spyderco's more frequently, go figure). At the same time, both have the lemons of the line ...

While I can't make you like them, I am interested in the reasoning you put forth. The bali has one of the most fail safe locks on the market. When open, you have two stop pins (the handle pins), and two metal bars, the handles, pinching on the blade. A properly fittet tang pin prevents the blade fro...

Only experienced the Chinook so far, but I like the deep belly, wide cutting surface, and really great point. Makes it very utilitarian (unless you regularly stree the tips laterally on your knives). I like that I can slice, push and dig for really little splinters with one beefy blade. I'm not very...

I had the same problem with mine, and, as reported, it cannot be fixed. The tooling seems to have been in Japan, so you're out of luck. I used the store credit and bumped up a bit for a Chinook (the other end of the folder spectrum), and was very happy. There was a little confusion though, as my kni...

I went to a small boarding/day school for highschool. One particularly long day I fell asleep in the dorm lobby on the couch, only to awake and find my pocket had been picked of my oh so lovely Endura. I checked that couch inside and out, turning over the whole lobby. Some little Bast!d stole it rig...

I've seen em break due to being squished between the body and trees/ladders, being droped from a height, or getting the body of the knife snagged and twisting untill the shakle either broke or sheared from the knife. Instead of clipping it to a biner, just clip it to a gear loop. Conversly, tie a so...

I've seen both break at the attachment points, and really don't trust either. What I found most effective (I worked on a ropes course, at a few climbing camps and as a theater lighting and teck crew this way) was a Endura (or rescue/delica) clipped in the pocket with a few feet of papracord through ...

Although discontinued, you can still find the Lum with the original titanium handles. Actually, i think the factory store is having a sale on them now. I personnaly prefer the ti handle on this model, and have found the handle shape provides a secure grip even when wet and slick. Just an alternative...

Well, I'll try to respond to all that, but not necissarily in order. I think you need to first state your purpose. Do you want a bali as a tool in the general cutting sence, or as a tool in the MBC sence? I think your looking at diffrent approaches based on each. Bali handles are somewhat straight d...
