Is buying a used gun a good idea? With shotguns it isnt bad and thats how people get their best deal but what about with Glocks and the like?

What do you feel about a conversion? I found that I can convert a 1911 into a .22 and was thinking about doing that. I have spent a fair amount of time shooting a Rock Island Armory 1911 and saw that there were ways to convert them fairly easily.

Ok guys. I'm turning 21 soonish and will finally be able to purchase a hand gun. I live in Illinois but go to school in Minnesota. I am a member of a gun club (don't own a gun, go figure...) That last comment isn't necessarily correct. Yes they should check in multiple browsers and I am sure that they did. But this has happened since an update (within the last few weeks) so they might not know

I have been looking into rock island armories 1911 as my first handgun. They can be had for around 350 and looking around online people love them. Only downside is they are not made in the US
